  1. I just took the photos for my library from a distance then cropped in to make them fit.
  2. 1: yes android 14 2: never tried as I have taken a photo of each loco to create a library 3. No 4: HMDCC is not shown at all
  3. I created my own image library by photographing each of my locos. Useful for insurance purposes as well. Once you have imported your photo you can adjust the size of the frame by dragging in the borders.
  4. Referring back to my original response - I have the app on an S22 with all permissions enabled. I tested loading a photo from the photo gallery to a newly created loco that was unassigned to a decoder - definitely no issue with the app so there must be a problem with the permission settings in your phone.
  5. If it's not on the list elsewhere on the forum then, in the current schedule, no. Beyond that, nobody on here is likely to know.
  6. Apparently I have a higher opinion of myself than Hornby does.🥴
  7. I too have the S22 but no issues similar to those you are reporting. When the project first started, the advice was to turn on all permissions on the phone, not just the obvious ones. On mine I have allowed the following:
  8. You're right Rob. If nothing else it's a reminder of what it's like in the real world!
  9. Also, I deselected a few sub forums but one of them(so far) keeps appearing. Irritating.
  10. I'm on a tablet and this is the sort box that I get. It shouldn't be a showstopper but very irrationally, I find unwanted posts about someone's boat or plane, extremely irritating. We should have a choice over forum content. I can understand why someone at Hornby Towers would think it may generate some cross brand activity but at least give us the choice. I am very tempted to test the limits of the new forum's profanity filter on this one.
  11. OK, so I have deselected the sections that are of no interest to me and entered the forum by clicking on the big red Hornby button followed by the recent activity icon it I still see posts popping up from Airfix and Scalextric. How can I stop that from happening? Or is this the equivalent of the U2 album Apple forced on users a few years ago?
  12. Have a thought for the test team - no manual but fortunately it's reasonably intuitive. Plug the dongle into the Elite, power it on then scan and link to the app - same process as a loco decoder. Using the add new loco button in the engine shed, create a profile for your non TXS loco. Then assign that loco to the dongle and import a profile map from the profile list. The new loco can then be selected and controlled from the app. This can be done as many times as you like with different locos - I'm on around thirty.
  13. It would helpful going forward if users trying the dongle with non Hornby controllers to advise us which ones it works with.
  14. Exactly what BrewMan says. The dongle is now available to buy so users will soon be happily loading the app with their non TXS equipped locos. Each of them with their own unique functions. When setting up a TXS decoder, you will see that it loads both a sound and a function profile. It is the latter that sets up the function buttons on screen. When controlling a non TXS decoder via the App and dongle a function map needs to be imported to populated the function page. Hornby have now provided those function maps for their TTS decoders so users can add the correct function buttons in one step rather than have to create function profiles from scratch.
  15. Fair enough although my experience across 25+ TXS decoders and 90+ others (inc. TTS) points to them being no different to any other brand. Power banks or any compatible stay alive will improve any decoder's performance.
  16. Judging by the title, Colin didn't use a TXS decoder on this one.🤔
  17. I suspect the current lull in posts is a byproduct of the forum being offline for a couple of days combined with a new format - it will take time for users to find their way back. As for off topic posts, I feel the old way of allowing a little drift is fine but anymore is risking anarchy. Take a look at RMWeb where many of the threads are absolute gibberish.
  18. Somewhere between a Black 5 and a 9F? I run the Black 5 on mine and use the largest speaker enclosure that will fit to give it a 'bigger' sound.
  19. On the manage device screen you have to first unassign the loco from the decoder then unlink and delete. Two buttons for two operations. However, if you press the unlink button three times you will get a forced delete option. Press that to clear your system. Just make sure you provide the new owner with the reset code in case they need it when they set it up.
  20. I suspect that the loco address has not written across from the app to the decoder (known issue under investigation). Try programming the decoder with the address from a DCC controller.
  21. Having seen your original post, I treated myself to the M10 and an armoured case as it will live with the layout. Very pleased so far - the large screen is a godsend. I'm now in the process of transferring the locos in the engine shed - all 52 of them!
  22. RM has a valid point. The majority of users on here just want a simple, straightforward answer to solve whatever issue they have stumbled across and s such the majority of problems can be resolved by a simple answer conveyed in layman’s terms. The ‘DCC is AC’ is a good example - more than enough for most issues. However, we have a couple of ‘contributors’ who are ‘rivet counters’ when it comes to technical terms and explanations. It is particularly irritating when, as a contributor, I have deliberately chosen simple language (it’s all I have) to explain or describe something by pitching it at what I consider to be the OP’s knowledge level, only to be jumped on by the ‘Technical Police’ as demonstrated by a recent question about linking decoders.
