  1. @Bugsy Why have you posted the same picture twice in different threads
  2. This is an excellent example of what I mentioned the other day, when a new member who describes himself as 'newby' asks a simple question and then receives a complete overload of information.
  3. It does concern me that someone like Simon-376330 asks a perfectly valid question only to be met by an assortment of different answers, some of which sometimes could cause irreparable damage to their layout or Loco's. Simon obviously has previous DC experience and that would be why he knew to ask the question in the first place. However, answers should really be worded in a way that does not, or could not, in any way cause damage. The obvious answer in this case is: Don't physically connect DC and DCC tracks together under any circumstances.
  4. Howard, welcome to the Forum. I have changed the title of your post to better define, I hope, the points you raise. I have also removed all the extra line spaces within your post. This Forum automatically adds a line space when you press enter.
  5. I also used an R8249 Loco Decoder on the TT that I modified
  6. The ability to uncouple anywhere really interests me. Could you provide a link to the ones you have found Rallymatt and I will see if they do 00 gauge as well.
  7. Your USA versions will of course be different but I have 3 Class 08 UK Loco's fitted with Sound and Power Bank. I had to remove the detailing from the cab but to be able to use the Loco's reliably was far more important for me. I do agree that the length of time they run for on the Power Bank could be reduced but I would not want that to impact on how good they are.
  8. I agree completely John, all the very best Dave
  9. @Rallymatt Some great pictures. I have rotated them, they look better the correct way up!

@Lyndon68 Your picture has been rejected. Please post it again on a Plain background
  11. Apologies GMD, I think I have just deleted your latest picture thinking it was a duplicate. Could you repost it for approval again. Sorry!
  12. Some great detailed pictures there MikeMart
  13. Totally agree Rallymatt. No interest from me either.
  14. I have 4 Power Banks and they are incredible. I would not consider anything else to go with the HM7000 Decoder. My Class 08 ran for well over 20 seconds on an unpowered section of my track while I was upgrading my layout.
  15. I have moved your post to the DCC section where it belongs and changed the title to describe your question. The answer to your question is that no special equipment is required to hear the sound on a DCC Sound fitted Loco. The Loco does need to have a Sound Decoder fitted. Please advise which model you have and which Decoder is fitted, so that we can help you further.
  16. RDS Mod Note: @Curly52 All pictures require Moderator approval before they appear on the Forum. Please don't keeping pressing ENTER. All your duplicate pictures have been deleted.
  17. I agree with 96RAF John, in terms of who would be the best person to write a 3 Rail section, as an addition to that thread. Whenever I hear about 3 Rail, your name comes immediately to mind. Anything you could put together would be more than we have now and of course you would be credited with it.
  18. RDS Mod Note: I didn't actually remove any posts but I did edit a couple that referred to posts no longer in the thread.
  19. @Glenn, thanks for letting us know.
  20. Hi Paul and Welcome to the Forum When you say the previous Decoder has blown. What were the circumstances of that. Is it a Loco fault. You say the Loco runs OK (ish), which suggests there is a problem. I have Power Banks fitted to 2 Class 08 Loco's and they start to charge immediately power is applied.
  21. @Roy-3772060, please let us know if the information above is helping you.
  22. On part of my layout, I have 4 concentric ovals, in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Radius on an 8' x 4' board. I can run Class 05, Class 08, Class 15, Class 20, Class 37, Class 42, Class 47, Class 52, Class 58, Class 66, Class 70, Class 108 and Class 128 Diesels. Also I can run Flying Scotsman, Royal Scot and another Steam Loco LMS 2-6-4. In fact the only Loco I have not been able to run was a Duchess of Gloucester, which I sold. All of these run without any issues at all on my layout. I must emphasise though that I treat it as a Railway Layout, not a Scalextric Race circuit and my track is perfectly flat. I have never been able to understand the '2nd Radius and up only' caveat.
