  1. Great detail Ken. Thanks for taking the time to post your method.
  2. @Steve-353799 I have moved your post from the TT:120 section of the Forum to this General Discussion area for now. It may be moved again, if we get an Oxford Rail Section.
  3. I think it is absolutely essential to number your Points and have a clear record of which switch matches which Point. My layout is DCC and all my 32 Points (soon to become 42) are currently operated using a computer running RailMaster. Maybe a diagram of your layout drawn using something like AnyRail (other packages are available, I just prefer AnyRail), that would allow you to have your Points numbered and corresponding to your switches.
  4. @Peter-351502 There are currently 2 profiles that charge up when the Loco is stationary. SD002 (A4) & SD010 (Tornado). Even if the sound produced by these 2 profiles is not correct for your Loco, it may be worth loading one of these to see if it improves your running. I tested one of these profiles with a Class08 Diesel and the running improvement was incredible.
  5. @Mark-360734 If you can't find the R number to give the exact model, please post a picture on here and someone will be able to identify it. Having said that, you will need to dismantle the Loco to fit a decoder, so you may as well do it straight away and be absolutely sure.
  6. @Pete I have moved your post to this DCC section which is more appropriate for your question. Also, I approved your picture but rejected the 2 identical posts. I realise that it can be confusing at times because the system does take a while to refresh the screen when posting a picture but it is only necessary to press the reply button once. Also all pictures need to be approved by a Moderator, so do not display straight away. You may wish to look at this link with information regarding the Forum: Important Information for New Members Registering for the Forum (Updated 29th March 2023) :: Hornby Hobbies
  7. Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought the non-sound Decoder version, to be upgraded to the sound version later.
  8. Each of the Points on a DC layout acts as a switch, so whichever way the Points are set will determine if that part of the track after the Point will be live. In order to run 2 Trains independently on a DC layout, you need 2 controllers or as you suggest, a Dual Controller. You need to add one controller to the outer loop and one to the inner loop but it is ESSENTIAL that you isolate the loops from each other. This is achieved by placing an insulated joiner, (replacing the normal fishplate joiner), between the Points separating the 2 loops. The siding shown Black will only be controllable using the inner track controller and the remainder of the layout would be controlled (only) by the Controller on the outer loop. If you are just starting out, I suggest you seriously consider moving to DCC, where you just have one (DCC) controller for the whole layout and you can move any number of trains independently from anywhere to anywhere. DCC allows you to control the Trains, not the Track.
  9. I doubt it very much. Hornby are working hard to add as many Loco's as possible.
  10. No, that is not possible
  11. Welcome to the Forum Alex but it is very unlikely you will see a response from Salldrew, who has not posted on the Forum for nearly 16 months. If you have a specific question it is advisable to open a new thread of your own rather than picking such an out of date one.
  12. @Peachy I have just approved your picture and to be honest, I am astounded to see that your test track appears to be powered by 2 flimsy wires attached to the fishplates. One of your responses above mentioned how clean the track is. It is irrelevant how clean it is with such a potentially poor electrical connection. Fishplates are notorious for poor connections and some better wires soldered to the middle of your test track may help.
  13. Nick I have approved your picture and post but rejected the 5 identical ones you posted. Member pictures do not appear instantly, so please just press 'send' once. It is not necessary to keep pressing send.
  14. It's your layout - run whatever you want.
  15. Hi Clive and welcome to the Forum I have been using RailMaster for over 10 years and I have never known it to be affected by the movement of a Loco, although I use the Hornby Elite in conjunction with RailMaster, not the eLink. The fact that you have repeated the same issue so many times, does suggest that something is not right. Does the program still run without problems when it is not run from the scheduler? RailMaster Support are usually very quick to respond to questions raised.
  16. I have used RM with XP, then an old W7 laptop ungraded to W10 and now with a W10 PC with an SSD. No problem with any of these options.
  17. I have been running RailMaster for years to just sit back and watch the trains go by. Bluetooth is just another (albeit clever) way of communicating.
  18. The main difference between DC and DCC is that with DCC the whole layout is Live all the time. If you have Points anywhere they will need the Hornby Point clips to ensure that the turnoff from the Point is live all the time as well. I only use DCC and I have never really used DC but I understand that DCC needs to have cleaner track and picks up on the wheels for your Loco's to work consistently.
  19. @gilbo2 I totally agree with you and that is how I operate as well.
  20. This new thread has been raised at the request of the Head of Brand - Hornby, with particular reference to new models that members would like to see added to the Hornby range. The same caveat will apply as to any other items in the wishlist section, regarding no guarantees or feedback but if enough interest in particular models is apparent, it will help Hornby with future decisions. This thread has been made 'sticky' so that it stays at the top of the wishlist section. Members are welcome to repost any suggestion that has already been made to the wishlist section previously, into this thread if it is appropriate. Please limit posts to just a description of the item required, including livery if appropriate and note that this thread is for 00 Gauge only.

  22. Welcome to the Forum Moonster78. Your duplicate post has been rejected, you only need to press 'send' once. There is no such thing as a boring subject, if you do not know the answer, that is exactly what this Forum is for.
  23. My entire layout is nothing but Hornby track and I have not experienced any of the problems described by the OP.
