  1. No, I have not noticed when all of the models’ estimated delivery dates. That’s something I need to do, so I know the sort of time is due product is due. I have looked at these dates for the models I want out of the 2020 range.

37lover, do you mind posting these if your Stephenson‘s Rocket Train Pack please? Thanks.  😀

  2. I’m surprised really that the stock has arrived already. I would have thought it would be towards the end of the year before models such as this arrive. Production must have started for the model, before 2020 announcements must have been announced.

  3. I agree with you, Brian (walkingthedog). Hornby Hobbies have made some models with factory errors, but this one does not look like a factory error. It really does look like a homemade job.

If I find anymore Hornby Bear's with the same error, then it may be an original factory error. Granted, this is the first one I have seen like this, but it really does look like a homemade job to myself.

  4. @Ernie201

I cannot share you my email address here on the forum, as that's against the rules. However, there's no need to, as the image has been uploaded successfully and has now been approved by the temporary Administrator.

So the face is there, along with the nose, but the letters 'A' and 'T' are not original. Somebody has either rubbed Bear's eyes and mouth out, or painted over them. This is not original, nor is it a factory error, I am afraid.

  5. I run everything as well, expect for my Hornby R2953 Flying Scotsman USA Tour 1969 Train Pack, which I very rarely run as extremely delicate and not something that I wish to handle often. The reason for that is, because I am afraid of damaging the locomotive. The locomotive already has some damage on her, as I was given the train pack used and I don't want to attempt to repair it, in fear of damaging her further.

  6. Plus, when images do not get approved, it's within the hours of 08:00AM and 05:00PM. This is Monday - Friday, but not every day course, due to there not being a permanent Adminstrator yet. Images are never approved on weekends or bank holidays.

  7. Jimyjames, you have got the wrong end of the stick. What I mean by my previous post in this thread, is that you don’t need boxes inside of a box. That’s wasted packaging. Granted, packaging is needed inside of the box, but not indvidual boxes for each model, track and controller.

All you need inside of the train set box, is a simple cardboard or polystrene tray. This is less overall packaging wasted, than each item having it’s own box, inside of the train box.

Has each indvidual box inside of the train got it’s own product number sticker label on the side of the box?

  8. The previous owner of the Hornby catalogue, before they gave the catalogue away to the charity shop, probably couldn't be bothered to list it on eBay or elsewhere. That could be the reason or similar, as why they donated it to charity.

The Hornby Book of Trains: The First One Hundred Years book will be worth more than £1.00, even when it's used and a few years old. As I stated in my original post, I am willing to pay £20.00 maximum for it new, but I would prefer to get it new for less than £20.00, if I can.

  9. LC&DR, I have just this second ago, searched for the 'Decline of Steam' book on Amazon.co.uk and these are the pirces that showed up, in used and new conditions.

    Used:

    1. £39.01 + free delivery
    2. £35.79 + £3.22 delivery
    3. £36.21 + £2.80 delivery
    4. £37.20 + £2.80 delivery
    5. £45.00 + £2.80 delivery

    New:

    1. £888.83 + £2.80 delivery
    2. £1,008.04 + free delivery

I think it's cheeky that the seller of the £888.83 + £2.80 listing, is charging additonal postage money, when the price for the book is nearly £900.00!  😬  😆  😉  😀

I would love to know how long those two new listings, have been on Amazon.co.uk for. I will be very suprised if those ever get sold. There's a lot cheaper used listings for sale instead, on the same website.
