  1. Well you'd think it would take as long... Decals sealed with a few coats of Tamiya Semi-gloss clear and a black wash.. /media/tinymce_upload/21a4fa994696568a7cfd26b3ac2b7dca.jpg I got carried away today... /media/tinymce_upload/97dabbad58be9b8317ede13b80f124f7.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/809d38d844e6cf8aa1ff8de48a0ff53b.jpg Yep she's on her wheels (and aftermarket exhausts) /media/tinymce_upload/6bbf657fd4fd0c0109ddf8cafcec2475.jpg Canopy unmasked and aerial wire fitted. /media/tinymce_upload/713e4b487ce7fd3fd97b94e0a8d5a952.jpg An interesting prop scheme to say the least! /media/tinymce_upload/967d4e1c36e5cc4d4776ecd8dc59dcb0.jpg Stencils added to prop and alot of weathering - nearly there.
  2. Being a post-war Mustang you don't need to worry too much about bare metal finishes (unless it's a show-bird) - as they were mostly painted for corrosion protection. Anyhow it's been a while since my last update on the Mustang, as I've been busy with a few other projects and the silver paint took an age to dry. /media/tinymce_upload/778a4b43ffe0abe0976bda10c9dc2d19.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/2337447d3e8a51869a042ba4a8c0b0b6.jpg All decaled up now, once they've dried out - I'll get a clear coat on her and then the devils in the detail work.
  3. Well the Mustangs, come on a bit since my last post.. /media/tinymce_upload/469580c3062914d83fc7283cf3569d59.jpg Main undercarriage center door section test fitted. 7. When you've got a fair number of coach roofs to respray (without removing them), it eats up masking tape very quickly.
  8. I spent the rest of the day on and off painting the interior. I used Vallejo Model Air instead of Humbrol - I'll put a list below of the Vallejo MA Colours I used with the Humbrol number in brackets. /media/tinymce_upload/1ef8bd9d8d07769800c19d030d33c87e.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/f4ec0d3aa0ed56a59bc7621d7093eb89.jpg Colours Used: 71.010 Interior Green (226) 71.024 Khaki Drab (26) 71.029 Dark Earth (62) 71.057 Black (85) 71.062 Aluminium (56) 71.072 Gun Grey (53) 71.092 Medium Olive (155) Another update to come later today.
  9. So with a short term resident of the Shelf of Doom (or Unfinished Builds) finished and I always finish the final blog entry for that build off with a cameo of the next build (can be found on other forums and my Facebook page) /media/tinymce_upload/20fa640f1f04694a4c7439f631bbe5ea.jpg It was time to start on the Mustang.. /media/tinymce_upload/e96a44e2821c523a5936183b3c63cba3.jpg Interior all built up, I'll paint it as one assembly to lessen the risk of fit issues.. More to come
  10. Yes they are Mr Hobby's equivalent to Tamiya Masking tape and they fit the Tamiya dispenser, but you need the inner cardboard ring from the empty Tamiya tape as an adaptor 😉
