  1. Oh go on you know you must @T2B 😎 In the meantime, I've been adding some rigging.. /media/tinymce_upload/f7861f5ac58544b6da37cf0232d1d32c.jpg More to come...
  2. I've been busy with the big beast (Flower Class Corvette), but I'm back on the launch.. /media/tinymce_upload/0956ee02303f92c14e60e4a7dc7d055f.jpg Splinter padding added to the wheel house. /media/tinymce_upload/94af79b6cad7380fb89f8552f38b38ee.jpg A few more bits added /media/tinymce_upload/50659735f8ef3644b720491de913fcbf.jpg Some painting done. /media/tinymce_upload/5edfcece6866c62d7cab8e4b66ba9c4e.jpg A mast behind!!! /media/tinymce_upload/80397a7f879021a6e210e74d71f3eb9b.jpg More splinter armour added.
  3. Well, FWIW the tool was big enough that the decks and hull had to be moulded in quarters rather than halfs, not shown or mentioned here, but they included a 24 bomb "hedgehog" anti-submarine launcher... Funny you should mention a hedgehog launcher - it needs a lot of clean up and time to build 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/f4e61217549c3bd432515994ac41a109.jpg
  4. @GNR-Gordon-4 Parts needed clean up for flash & burring - it's an old tooling don't forget. And don't mention the ejector pin and sink marks - there are tons. I've spent most of the day doing the rear main gun and I've only just now got assemblies to paint. Ironically Revell did a new tool of HMCS Snowberry a few years back, but in 1/144 scale! I've brought her sister ship HMS Buttercup for myself 😉
  5. As @T2B says it's 1/72nd Scale, the part count is ridiculous and worth noting too - nearly every part needs clean up. I've got about 90 hours work into it so far 😮 I'm having a few days break from it, so I can work on a couple of other kits (M10 & RAF Rescue Launch). The Ventura is a good kit, having looked at the sprues, it's very clean (and comes with paint masks for the glazing) and was a bargain price on Amazon. I also discovered I'd misidentified the aircraft my Granddad flew as Hudson's - they were in fact Ventura's. I also have 'another ship kit' on route, plus a new cutting mat and few other bits and pieces.
  6. I will, currently (still) building this though 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/59aef827bda52c8fe68c9030ae67de95.jpg Which brings me onto my latest acquisition by Revell.. /media/tinymce_upload/99b5f80fac6af4d5f59e4c253bdfaffb.jpg
  7. My latest kit acquisition (though I have thinned the stash some what) - yep I have a bug for Tamiya Armour 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/3189ad9d608e9c6394c2871e9ed2358d.jpg
  8. Oh were to begin, I currently have 7 kits in various stages of construction (newest first) Tamiya 1/48th Scale British Achilles M10 IIC - painted & decaled, which is awaiting weathering.Airfix 1/72nd Scale RAF Air Sea Rescue - progress is shown on here.Revell 1/72nd Scale Flower Class Corvette HMCS Snowberry - ongoing commission build, I'm currently building superstructure.Trumpeter 1/48th Scale Supermarine Attacker - built needs paintingEduard 1/48th Scale Hawker Typhoon IB - virtually built (awful kit)Academy 1/72nd B-29A Superfortress - built, filling and sanding done, needs rescribing before painting.Airfix 1/48th Scale DH Sea Vixen - built, requires filling before painting.
  9. I haven't used Humbrol Paints on mine, I've used Vallejo Model Air instead (as you'll see below): 19 Gloss Red - 71.003 Red (RLM23) 24 Trainer Yellow - 71.078 Yellow (RLM02) 26 Khaki - 71.290 US Earth Brown 27 Sea Grey - 71.110 Dark Grey 33 Black - 71.052 Anthracite Grey 34 White - 71.279 Insignia White 53 Gunmetal - 71.072 Gun Grey 54 Brass - 71.066 Gold 70 Brick Red - 71.080 Rust Anyhow back to the build, paint and decals... I decided to get as much added, as I dare before she went into paint.. /media/tinymce_upload/c42eee5317b2a6ba709d17a0889192f3.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/711cd1be10a33de5dcce10d4b6dd352c.jpg Oh and a large cameo... /media/tinymce_upload/ed50362dd914009ff10fba0cb49607c5.jpg I left the Launch alone for a bit while I got on with the Corvette, but just before Christmas the Launch went into paint, I gave it an undercoat of Nato Black (71.251), prior to spraying the hull Anthracite Grey. It was then masked to spray the keel and deck. /media/tinymce_upload/e8621f51985891d46b8266d08e976676.jpg Fresh from painting. /media/tinymce_upload/4a59793d1f69ba16fbdc95c06b889a76.jpg Main painting done, wheel house glued in place, holes drilled for rigging and touched up. /media/tinymce_upload/fe52465a7159c1deed82d25b33ffd0c6.jpg After a couple of coats of gloss clear (Tamiya), I applied the decals this afternoon. /media/tinymce_upload/8406ec396824e42a8d34f4cd752a6693.jpg Once these have dried for a couple of days, I'll give the launch a few coats of Matt Clear, before carrying on with assembly.
  10. More progress: I found gluing the deck on, before adding any detail to it got near perfect fit to the hull. /media/tinymce_upload/9a35b4ba991b06b4bdf14f5f65737db3.jpg Adding more detail to the deck, while the minor filling cures. /media/tinymce_upload/f6374e20679238f776e600bcfd9ba4a7.jpg Adding the bits to the underside.. /media/tinymce_upload/e58b1b5126bb2e61c8f9acd05e071710.jpg More detail added to the deck and ready for an undercoat. /media/tinymce_upload/7b45e67f8dd44611fc41da3a70f81418.jpg More to come
  11. Yes I'm back with an Airfix build and not something new either.. It's been in my stash for a while, so I got it down from the shelf and made a start.. /media/tinymce_upload/6f069b0a2612685ac0126f57fe9a96d6.jpg Oops wrong photo 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/3bc46bd2316f0d0f75b5c938a2bfb8c8.jpg That's better 😎 I've made a start this evening and have got the hull together, will need a small amount of filller but for 41 year old tooling - it's pretty good.. /media/tinymce_upload/696c702c27c8a0941e52e58587d59d6b.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/894fe869a9e8c7044ef3244bc4ffe96b.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/be1c5ee09b37a645f74627a9056b25e1.jpg More to come TTFN
  12. I've had a few more purchases arrive (including one all the way from China - which wasn't supposed to arrive till Mid-December... There's a bit of an Armoured theme going on at the moment.. /media/tinymce_upload/e116b6592d321aea694a9923fb2eead8.jpg (This acquisition got photo-bombed 😉) /media/tinymce_upload/bd8621dcfa65c44bb85bf8c1eb6e9859.jpg And all the way from China.. /media/tinymce_upload/dbc122df48b9b9075df6e99f8f516e4b.jpg

  19. She certainly is a Revell (ex-Matchbox) 1/72nd Flower Class - a long term commission for a Railway client. I had to be creative to get her in the spray booth 😎 /media/tinymce_upload/d569e7e08c5e02988ddc2af9646db37b.jpg My railway layout is over 10 and a half feet wide to put it in perspective - she's a big beastie!
  20. 21. When I saw a sprue review of Revell's AEW version a while back, I suspected that the MR.3 was planned into the tooling, so it's effectively a retool of a new tool. It'll will match up quite nicely with the Airfix ones. It comes with the Viper outboard nacelles for the Phase 3 MR. 3's& the standard outboard nacelles for the Phase 2 MR.3's. Sneak peak below 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/46a8a8822cb39b6b16d07297833e9181.jpg I've done a mini sprue review over on RMWeb (you'll need to copy & paste the link, but you don't need to be a member of the forum to view it) https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blogs/entry/22520-shack-attack-another-big-build-part-1-revenge-of-the-shack-chapter-1/
  22. My Shackleton's have a proper baby sister* at last 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/5b5a5df1edebe9322e254e7699df435f.jpg And she comes with Viper's 😉 *I can consign the shorty Shack to eBay...
  23. A few bits arrived today... /media/tinymce_upload/faf18ebba1db56f903747ce254ac25c3.jpg
