  1. My latest aquisition, it got delivered the other day, along with some EZ-Line and some construction materials. /media/tinymce_upload/156048e83335ace8abb603ad0d5fa4ff.jpg
  2. Not sure, but it's neither 93 nor 94 (one being "Desert Yellow" and the other "Desert Sand"), but a much lighter and more "yellow" colour. Thanks @Paws4thot, I may have mix and match by the looks of it.
  3. Technically not an acquisition, but a commission for one of my Railway Clients - a rather big ship, 1/72nd Scale Flower Class Corvette arrived and a freebie for my stash a very old Airfix Short Stirling he's given me - the box is a bit battered but the contents are still sealed.. .. may well do a captured colour & decal scheme on it.. /media/tinymce_upload/1b4b9d348c30ab8138922d4e65c0210a.jpg Other acquisitions have been, new bottles of Micro Sol & Micro Set, more upgrades for the Challenger 2 (wheels and suspension) and couple Pilot fine silver & gold paint pens. Speaking of the Challenger 2, what's the Humbrol colour number for the Desert Sand?
  4. Oooooh! Aaahhhhh! You are going to be playing nicely. Remember we do this for fun John the Pom It's the pigeons that have to worry lol But as well as that there have been some more acquistions. A new drill set and Archimedes drill Some Vallejo paints Upgrade parts for the Challenger 2 (more to order) Oh and I've been asked to build a Ship for a railway client! That's the ex-Matchbox (now Revell) 1/72nd Flower Class Corvette..
  5. My latest acquistion - Heng Long 1/16th RC Challenger 2 Tank - some minor assembly required! /media/tinymce_upload/6375fcbe1f5cb4a95a963c2d8a312502.jpg
  6. Some Flory Models sanding sticks and something in 1/16th Scale 😎 All will be revealed on Tuesday (hopefully)
  7. My other Christmas Present arrived 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/3aea346eeb894d64201a19b7704d991e.jpg
  8. I treated myself to a kit as a late Christmas present, for all my hard work on OO gauge Loco's and Rolling stock this year (already have over 30 items to do in 2019). I did also treat myself to this beauty from Airfix's parent company.. /media/tinymce_upload/443a8eac4634db7bb4f6c1fe302fa7f4.jpg As for the kit, I'm not going to tell you what it is - yet 😉 All I will say is Admin & the Moderator's will get the right 'Hump' and tell me "You shall not pass" in true Gandalf style 😎
  9. In my LMS on Saturday and they had a really big Avro - the HKM Lancaster in 1/32! I had a look inside the box and was very impressed, but the thought of (a) £400 and (b) how many decades it would sit on the bottom layer of my stash put me off (fortunately!) I'm trying to avoid buying anymore kits, till I've made a dent in my stash. Though as an investment the HKM one with the clear fuselage would be a wise one.
  10. Thanks, Dark Sea Grey is always a bit of guessing game as it can vary quite a bit. I have another 3 to build (Shack MR.3, a Dambusters Lanc and a B.II). I'm also toying with idea of acquiring another MR.2 to do a late version (as opposed to my early one) and the Hasegawa Grand Slam/Tall Boy version of the Lanc. No varnish, as I got a very good surface finish with the airbrush.
  11. Finished, time for the obligatory Cameo of the next build (already under way as I type). /media/tinymce_upload/f94eb14fdab1b3c02a40acae692c26f3.jpg Out in the fresh air.. /media/tinymce_upload/8033604578873622ddc02327eeb1779f.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/f873b2fd4c5a97c3e3df0fdcd542ba65.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/af802829c940c127e593dc13750a4db7.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/96fa0a5d030ca89698774718fa1911a4.jpg Time for a Trio of Avro's... /media/tinymce_upload/7cdb175b2fdd5018eff646d81fb4a4cc.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/3781b76180af12242004c97bfb901eb2.jpg
  12. 71.048 Engine Grey works best, I shall be using it on my next Naval Aircraft project - the big SV. 😉 Boing 'Zebedee' has her wings glued on.. /media/tinymce_upload/81eba1fa06469d699eb9f431da65f753.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/20d03afcedd3663b5cef6b12cb38220d.jpg Props all painted and as I type - 24 out of 72 transfers added to the props!
  13. Decals on the wings and fuselage complete - just 10 parts & 72 decals to add 😮 /media/tinymce_upload/ca8740c0e76a2ec438139c316c5d733a.jpg
  14. I've gone slightly cross-eyed with all the transfers I've applied so far today... Fuselage is complete (aside from two antenna - currently in paint with the props), starboard wing is done. It's just the port wing to finish the decals on and add the various antenna and under carriage doors. This should be completed tonight after supper. /media/tinymce_upload/c379651a4471f3504e7656f7343ac50b.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/c37a22e3044042028f6293d179156d76.jpg All being well I'll get the props finished tomorrow and I can get the Shack finished
  15. /media/tinymce_upload/554e94f9526f2602825630518aee2754.jpg Zebedee sitting on her wheels for the first time this evening, but still with an awful lot to do..
  16. I found 71.048 Engine Grey a close match to Dark Sea Grey, the colour on the illustrated sheet is more akin to Ocean grey. I've got half the fuselage decaled up (top & bottom), I just need for them to dry out a little before tackling the sides (just need to remember she's Zebedee and use the appropriate Xrtadecal transfers)! Once the decals are on , I'll touch up the paint where needed and fit the tail wheels (currently along with main wheels having their hubs painted). She'll defintely be finished this week, I have the B-29A to complete, but that will take too long - so who knows what I'll start from my stash, before I go back to my railway commissions in January.
  17. It had been sitting in my under construction pile (next to the Stash overflow on the top shelf in my bedroom). The weather was dire yesterday and I had realised how dark the photo's came out - the Shack is dark sea grey honest lol. More progress this morning, started putting the transfers on. /media/tinymce_upload/d0d7f0b2298cc0f44101f9449f8a7376.jpg
  18. Slightly earlier than expected and with an unexpected bereavement (Mum's twin Brother), the Shack is helping distract me: /media/tinymce_upload/f1b45b3cfc804bff6c650f6476b2bfa9.jpg Props assembled /media/tinymce_upload/98e236d4b0ee407856ce10618e3292ff.jpg Wings in the process of having additional painting a detail added prior to transfers. More to come.
  19. Breaking News After what seems like an eternity - the Shack will be finally back on the workbench next week. It's time for her finale 😎
  20. Oh dear a client dropped off a very large order this afternoon, so Aircraft kits will be grounded for sometime (I may knock up a Tank kit in the meantime)... ... the work is for him and his Brother (who models in P4) , so I've got 30 Modelu crew to paint, along with 9 packs of Modelu GWR lamps, 14 loco's and 9 assorted pieces of rolling stock...
  21. I have a lot more loco crew to paint @GNR-Gordon-4. In the meantime my latest acquisitions are: Vallejo Model Air 71.043 US Olive Drab Vallejo Model Air 71.056 Panzer Dark Grey Vallejo Model Air 71.054 Dark Grey Blue (x2) Tamiya 10mm Low-tac Masking tape (x2) Alas not for planes, but for trains..
  22. I will, when I have the time - as in between locos & rolling stock, I'm busy painting loco crews... /media/tinymce_upload/95157128967f1b66547f5343a09d4d7b.jpg And one client is picking up 50 loco crew from Modelu (at Warley) and guess whose painting them 😎
  23. I know exactly what you mean. I currently have three O gauge locos bunging up my bench. I try to get a lot of work done on them, then treat myself to some styrene wrangling. I fear the Blenheim will linger in the stash for some time to come. I currently have a Hornby 42xx on the workbench that needed some styrene wrangling - I managed to lose a sandbox while modifying the chassis. Then there's this little lot to do.. An old Mainline Manor to rename and weather. 5 Collett coaches (4 Hornby, 1 Mainline) to modify (add destination board brackets, closer coupling on Mainline one), repaint roofs (post war GW) & weather. A Castle to update to post war G&W livery & rename (weathered, but ex-works) 4 More Hornby Colletts to modify (remove close coupling mechanisms and fit Romford Screwlinks & corridor connectors) & weather. Another Castle and a Bachmann 93xx to modify, etc... And 5 Bachmann Mk.1's to weather. Oh I forgot, a Manor to build using a Comet Chassis and Bachmann Parts (tender & loco body) at some point. So I might get back to kits eventually!
  24. Snap, I have one arriving on Monday, along with a couple of Vintage Classics Tank kits (WW1 Male & Churchill), but alas I have an ever growing pile of OO Gauge Railway Commissions to do (along with a nearly finished Shack AEW2 & a recently started B-29A Enola Gay). The railway stuff takes priority at the moment.
