  1. It's a beauty, I also have a vintage Airfix BI/III...
  2. A RAF 4 Engined Heavy Bomber - converted to a Glider Tug.. /media/tinymce_upload/a8de4c12c6b05015e53f9596030507c0.jpg Nice kit by the looks of it 😉 And somethings en-route for the Hellcat in Resin FOC!!

  4. You need enough room for the box 😉 - it's big, heavy and filled almost to the brim! /media/tinymce_upload/5f0e9d6711558d2cd0e15216492f6a52.jpg A Zero would be good, as would the Kate in 1/24th.
  5. It's a real beauty.. here's a sneak peak of one of the sprues.. /media/tinymce_upload/a19f1c6ba0b5ed383cb6885332a5faf6.jpg There's few builds up on youtube and Flory Models - that's where this build is destined for 😉
  6. Or a bf-109 or Fw-190; I wonder who might have made one or both of those? I do have a FW-190 and a Stuka in my stash 😉
  7. She won't that bigger display case - as she'll be done wings folded, as per all my FAA planes. The joy of the kit is that you can treat each sprue as a kit in itself..
  8. I did say something big didn't I... /media/tinymce_upload/20e2f6ecc64c663d1579004fa819b6b8.jpg
  9. Hmmm, A few more acquistions.. 10. Went with my trusty 000 brush for the black (and went very freelance)... /media/tinymce_upload/6814924a582c59ca274e957cb80d4b91.jpg
  11. The Komet arrived, what a well packed box! /media/tinymce_upload/7db894b2b837d258a22dcf5262a5e605.jpg
  12. I went for three tone, I haven't got a finer enough needle in my airbrush for four! Transfer added 😉 /media/tinymce_upload/e24c61813d94219f008a4901d696cdea.jpg Just a Matt coat and oil wash to add..
  13. In between, loco commissions - I've manage to get some paint on 😎 /media/tinymce_upload/5b4cf798b611634628f29d18e8d9d683.jpg
  14. Well my work bench is always a war zone - does that count? 😎 'He' needed a bit of Mr Surfacer.. /media/tinymce_upload/67f63e60fe0c7d129d05229eb11253ae.jpg
  15. Thing is, some of the old armour/softskin kits are little gems and are worth the effort. It's good that Airfix have given these kits a fresh lease of life, even better that modeller's such as yourself are enjoying them. Couldn't agree more, having just built the Mk.1 Male Tank from the vintage classics range, the moldings date from 1967, he went together better (and had less flash/ejector pin marks) than some current kits and only needed a small amount of Mr Surfacer on a couple of joins. In the meantime I've had a bit of a splurge.. Another upgrade kit for my HMCS Snowberry commission - Great Little Ships 4" Mk. IX Breech Loading Gun (white metal & photo etch - over 290 parts, oops!) Decal set for the He162. A2 - H Models 'He 162 in Foreign Service Part 2' And en-route shortly a Meng 1/32nd Scale Me163 Komet - including decals for the captured one flown by the late great Eric 'Winkle' Brown..
  16. A certain auction site bargain, complete apart from the decal sheet - not a problem an aftermarket set has been acquired ;) /media/tinymce_upload/7e0175c89f684d34b8b31779027e6a05.jpg
  17. I've had this in my stash for a while and a Sunday free from Railway Commissions had me dig him out.. /media/tinymce_upload/116afeda393dd0e06495c68e54d5abd0.jpg With the sprues out of the bag, I was pleasantly to surprised to see how little flash there was, I just hoped there wasn't any alignment issues. There wasn't - the kit went together like a dream. /media/tinymce_upload/8f6514c4fd9d19377c672c1681d0abbd.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/97dd8b0b1af620f3ad2b783a780500f6.jpg I did drill out the cannon, just to improve the look of them. /media/tinymce_upload/058a6f02b11f9aee148de0fdb61ade74.jpg The only part that really needed adjustment was the driver's position plating, but that was only minor. /media/tinymce_upload/7b426fe141a8c3d58929e6d880391535.jpg I opted to glue the tracks in place rather than attempt to weld them. /media/tinymce_upload/cec0ecef045dbe8ba3b8e87d38e011e1.jpg The worst part for flash & ejector pins was the gun carriage bit (for want of a better description), but then again it's only minor. This assembly won't be glued in place till after painting. /media/tinymce_upload/aa2828688d31a678fe04fd8c0c24f788.jpg Hopefully I can get the painting done while working on my commissions..
  18. ICM kits do end up in other manufacturer's ranges (JU-88 A4 is in Revell's range) and they are impressive 😉 And oops another kit for my stash... /media/tinymce_upload/aeaed9465a7ae13a8fd67e21ce608325.jpg It's stunning btw 😉
  19. Nice build so far PMM. Worth noting Mitchell's based at Dunsfold where Canadian Crewed Squadrons. Having worked there (BAE Systems days 1991 - 2000), I'm know a lot of the history of the Aerodrome and also know of a very good book it ;)
  20. A few more acquisitions.. Eduard's 1/48th Typhoon Mk. 1B & Airfix's 1/72nd Jet Provost T.4.. /media/tinymce_upload/ff62ed0afd06295c9998ab4971388ef9.jpg A replacement wheel set for the B-29A /media/tinymce_upload/e7dcbc1aed22e6f860d17d0df2d327d0.jpg And starting to stock up on aftermarket parts for the Flower Class Corvette.. /media/tinymce_upload/0656075dec69978a61a089b66e43bf6f.jpg
  21. The Mk.22/24 Spitfire arrived, along with some other goodies.. /media/tinymce_upload/3f7f6c635f23a9ad37eb9c6f67945c6f.jpg /media/tinymce_upload/af173908de2f2324073c9bc2d5dff71a.jpg More to come as well..
  22. Back to latest acquisition's it's predominantly materials and tools: Tamiya: (2x) Extra Thin & (2x) Extra Thin Quick Drying Cement, Photo Etch Cutting Scissors & Folding Pliers. Vallejo Model Air 71.053 Dark Sea Grey & Vallejo Model Wash Black JCW Razor Saw Another set of Micro drills (stepped shank) 1mm x 3mm Styrene Strip (x5) Oh and on the way from PM Models an Airfix 1/48th Scale Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22/24..
  23. I would also recommend investing in a set of Resin Wheels, the Airscale instrument decals set and a metal undercarriage set (there's a white metal set, but a brass set may be on the cards 😉 )
  24. Oopsy, another kit for the stash... /media/tinymce_upload/d05f26ccec97c07f56d8be802f5f30e8.jpg ... I've been persuaded to take part in a build along!
  25. To the OP, keep it simple for your first bomber, so opt for either a single or twin-engined tail dragger...
