  1. Hornby curved points are not very good how ever they are layed.
  2. I think Hornby don't bother to say run the model in as they assume it will be done as a matter of course. I have always done so as did my dad with my first set.
  3. Thanks for posting that Rob. A G clamp is basically a vice isn't it.
  4. Did you apply some oil to the axle bearings?
  5. Also I think the curves might be too tight for the larger loco.
  6. Difficult to suggest anything else but the Hornby one on here.
  7. Has it ever been lubricated. A minute drop where moving parts touch should help. If you can see the oil, you have used too much.
  8. They won't last the lifetime of the loco because the loco should last for decades, the rubber won't.
  9. Have you turned the armature with your finger to see if it moves?
  10. I use a small G clamp. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amtech-W5690-Heavy-Clamp-2-Inch/dp/B00LQQY7PQ/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=Small+g+clamp&qid=1576592237&sr=8-7
  11. Track rubber is ideal for removing excess glue from the rail tops.
  12. Even if you don't intend to run it for another year, run it in.
  13. Lego glued inside the building will make it sturdier Eric. I object to you saying we are all brain damaged. Wibble.
  14. I reckon most people who buy the magazine would have some glue 😆 Difficult thing to attach to a magazine considering they probably pile them up. You are bound to need more glue eventually. I have at least 5 different types to do the same job.
  15. Yes very important. If you have a continuous loop run the loco forward for 30 minutes at a moderate speed, then turn the loco round and run it in reverse for 30 minutes in the same direction. You can hear the loco getting quieter and see it gain speed.
  16. That's what somebody wants in the range, a catenary system.
  17. No Bostik won't work. Have you got a Hobbycraft or similar near you. The glue in bottles although expensive ish will last you for years.
  18. Friendly Fryer it says Spring 2020 on this web site. Probably a long time before the other two. 😆
  19. If a shop sells model kits they should sell the glue as well. If not have a look on line.
  20. Have a look at service sheet HSS 210B.
