I'm sure Hornby had a 'stretchy' draw bar once.

Too close and the loco won't go round curves without derailing. Shortening the draw bar isn't too difficult. Not easy but not too difficult.

I think it's a case of people not taking note of when the post was ladt used.

Anybody playing trains should have some nut spinners, a set of flat and cross head screwdrivers and some small pliers at the very least.

Is the Club still available as an on line membership? If not that would account for the fact there aren't any later club magazines on line.

Are you referring to the streamlined lamps with wings, if so I very much doubt it. Should be fairly easy to make some though.

Tender drive locos are rare. Almost all locos are now loco drive.
