  1. You should try looking in Buckinghamshire. Mail order is the only way for me.
  2. The post is about locos not cars. The GT3 is a loco. Very nice Eric /media/tinymce_upload/2ba158d94ab1ff73f9156aa36dda4df5.JPG
  3. I shall just carry on as usual. Has worked for the last 50 something years.
  4. YouTube can be very helpful with lots of things but can also lead you up the garden path.
  5. I hope calling Rob (RAF) arrogant was a joke as well. 😉
  6. I used to gave a shuttle train on my layout over 20 years ago using a Heathcote IRDOT and shuttle module. Took about 15 minutes to wire up. Dead easy.
  7. When you say 'Southern' do you mean region or south of Watford. If RLC could say which express locos he has or had we might be able to help.
  8. Have you got a loco that would have run from London to Liverpool, more than likely from a train pack of loco and coaches.
  9. The small loco is far more likely to be pulling a couple of wagons full of parcels. Mallard with coaches isnt very Christmassy. 😆
  10. Just made this from an old crane, flat wagon and a wagon chassis plus bits from the bits box. /media/tinymce_upload/f0af4b5827049eab696287a409e8575e.jpg
  11. Hornby track pins are in my view not ideal. They are thick, blunt and have a domed head, not unlike me.
  12. Does exactly what it says on the tin. It changes which lights illuminate. One configuration for day and one for night.
  13. Think it ran from Euston to Liverpool. Have you looked on line to find out what loco was used. I believe Tornado did some excursions with that headboard.
  14. I don't use any type of hammer on my layout. No need as far as I can see. Makes things jump about if you do.
  15. Fantastic pictures. Looks much bigger than it really is. Thanks for posting.
  16. I do have a jewellers hammer but I don't use it for track pins, as I said before I push them in. Bit like this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/SILVERSMITH-HAMMER-JEWELRY-MAKING-REPOUSSE/dp/B01IL70AIU/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=Jewellers+hammer&qid=1575468388&sr=8-14
  17. I push mine in so they are tight against the sleepers. Not sure why you would not do so.
  18. If you are not using Hornby pins (they are too blunt) push them in with the end of some pliers. Gaugemaster pins are better. You need to get some small tools to build a model railway.
  19. That's the R number for the loco HB. It is X12013.
  20. Get the brass ones they will look great.
  21. I always prefer brass versions they are much thinner. Never seen those from that company before.
  22. Thanks Atom. I'm sure somebody makes etched brass versions that would be far superior to the plastic ones. How about these? https://www.phoenix-paints.co.uk/products/jedetail/deflectors/jek12
  23. Have a look at this lot Anglia998. https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/hornby-list-of-terrier-locomotives/?p=1
