Ah, that's where these chrome painted locomotives are coming from; The Steamworks of Margate-Richmond! 😆 😉 😀

Jimbopuff, it's nice me and you have the same locomotive. I suspect you jealous that I bought mine for 240 shillings and you bought your's for 660 shillings! 😆 😉

@Jumbopuff
Mine is from the Hornby RailRoad R2669 Diesel Train Pack and the running number 08513. You don't have this model, with this running number, Jimbopuff?
I am unsure what you mean by 'Virgin' Train Pack.
I've just looked up the locomotive could 'The Sorter' and I didn't reliase it's name given to that locomotive. It has name plates on it. Not much difference between the two, but older model, The Sorter probably has more detail on it; More decals and name plates.
I have had my eye on the locomotive I have for a while. They appear to be popular as every time one comes on eBay, there's always a number of people trying to get it and I can't bothered trying to win on at auction as I will probably end up over spending! I never thought I would get one under £30.00, never mind below £20.00 and just about £10.00. I am very happy with the purchase, even though it's just Hornby basic Class 08 bodyshell that Hornby have had in their inventry for years and years, plonked on top of Hornby's basic 0-6-0 chassis with the Type M Motor! 😆
@mjb1961
Cool! 😎
Nice locomotive. Well done. 😀

@Jimbopuff
I spent a bit more than that, Gordon. 😀 Never could come away with a full wallet. A couple of locos - details later.
Funny isnt't it? No matter how hard you not spend anything or spend a below a certain amount, you also end coming home with something or two, or more! 😆

Correct Jimbopuff and thank you. I only paid £12.00 for the Class 08. I am glad I got my shillings maths correct and I am glad you picked up on my post, Jimbopuff! 😀
Is that what you call it, 'The Sorter'?
I see them go for around £30.00 very often on eBay, so I am glad to find one at less than half price! 😆

Thank you for that news HB. So it's tpoo early for me to join still otherwise it looks as if I will get the 2018 locomotive, which I don't want.

@Darrenmb
Who are the new stickers for the Tri-ang BATTLE SPACE! Turbo Car printed by?
GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)

Or they want to get rid of the 2018 locomotomtive stock first. If you join now and if you do get the 2018 locomotive, you will have to wait until 2020 to rejoin to get the 2019 locomotive.
GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
-
Yes and when the lcomotive changes, I'm joining. Clearly there's still stock of the 2018 locomotive left, but why can't Hornby add the 2019 locomotive to the website and then any joiners from that point onmwards can choose which locomotive they get.

@walkingthedog
I keep track of the clubs I am in, but I'm not in the Hornby Collector Club, not untill I can be sure that I recieve the 2019 Bagnall Shunter in Network Rail livery and then I'll be joining it again.
@station Cat
When you recieved the last 'The Collector' magazine,on the piece of paper that has your home address on, did you not recieve on the reverse of that a rejoin reminder? If not, then you may have missed an issue.
GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
-
Surely the final issue you recieve comes with a form reminding you that your membership is coming to an end and you can fill in the form that they sent you to rejoin, then you send back to Hornby Hobbies; Or it should also advertise that you can rejoin via the Hornby website?

Another purchase is from my local model shop, is X2 PECO Lineside Kit OO/HO LK-24 Packing Cases. I can't remember how much these cost, but they were not very much each.

I purchased this Hornby RailRoad BR Class 08 08513 Diesel Shunter Locomotive, spilit from Hornby RailRoad R2669 BR Diesel Freight Train Pack, bought from Shpock, at a bargain price of only 240 shillings (Providing my maths is correct, which I hope it is! 😆), plus a few more for postage. It runs very well and

Correct Rob. I said 44 shillings, because I was posting a total that Jimbopuff spent overall on his day out. So the cup of tea costed 44 shillings, as you just mentioned and the catalogue costed 4 shillings so Jimbopuff spent 44 shillings. An expensive day out! 😆 😉 😀
GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)

@Jimbopuff
Using your 4 shillings is 20p guidance, I have worked out how much £1.00 is in shillings. Therefore, I have worked out how much you paid for the 15th Edition Catalogue and the daylight robbery cup of tea; In total, you spent 44 shillings.

Thanks for the link Rob. I will use that next somebody talks about buying something in shillings.

@Margate-Richmond
Don't forget that that the Flying Scotsman is most certainly over 20 years old. Who has owned it? Has it been looked after? These are questions you will never know the answer to, but the poor finish look, could be due to lack of care of the model. Somebody may of scratched the locomotive in some way.
It looks like an original to me. I have seen repainted locomotives being sold in real life and on eBay and they don't look even half as good as factory painted locomotives and the finsih to me on the chrome Flying Scotsman that's for sale on eBay does look original to me.

I am glad you told us how much you paid in modern day money, as I had no idea how much 4 shilings is! 😆

You wouldn't be able to see any dirt on it, would you aprart, form your own face's reflection! 😆 😉 😀

I only wanted to confirm which it is or both, that WTD has now said confirmed (With thanks to WTD), as I have never seen a chrome painted Flying Scotsman before and I wnated to know it's reason for it's release.
Has anybody got an image of a chrome painted 28XX?
GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)

WTD, I asking what whih it is, not repeating what other's have said.

Cool! 😎
I have never seen one of those before. I actually fancy getting one, actually. Oh dear! 😮 😆 😉 😀
The eBay link posted by atom3624 on Posted at 10:37:59 Mon, 28 Jan 2019, looks to me that's a Great Britain made model, due to the fact it has the shorter in length coupiling hooks.
Also, the eBay listing says "factory sample", so is it a factory sample or is it a gift to those who retired from working at Hornby Hobbies?

Well my phone likes to change my typing to none existant words and I haven't got a custom dictionary set up. I just don't know why my phone does this. I must deactivate the auo-correction.

It's supposed to be website. Not sure what a wesbote is. You will have to ask my iPhone that! I kept retyping the word 'website', but it kept changing the word to 'wesbote'. I gave up in the battle and let my iPhone win with it's gibberish language, that it's obsessed with! 😆 😉 😀

Yes, that does look very nice. The colour of it is very striking. The green paint colour caught my eye-sight straight away.
Enjoy atom3624. 😉 😀
