  1. That's a nice idea. new lad on block. Please get images of the display, if you can. Thank you. 😀

Thomas; Pulling Annie and Clarabel. Annie's face facing the rear of Thomas and Clarabel being the brake coach of the two, facing the rear of the train.

Edward; Looks good pulling cattle wagons. I add cattle wagons to Edward often and don't forget to add a brake van to the rear of the train!

Henry; Pulls every morning The Flying Kipper, an early morning express train of fish. For this, decent legth train of salt wagons, ventilated vans and utility wagons build this up. Hornby never released salt wagons in the Thomas & Freidns range, but I think a good substute for these are the lime wagons.

Gordon; The Express Train, so his composite and brake coaches will come in handy. Brake compartment of the brake coach facing the rear of the train. A decent amount of coaches for Gordon is 4 or more coaches.

James; His coaches, so his composite and brake coaches will come in handy. Brake compartment of the brake coach facing the rear of the train. Decent amount of coaches for James, is 2 to 3 coaches.

Percy; Sodor Mail Wagons, with a brake van at the rear of the train.

Toby; Bachmann Henrietta if you have her, if not then then some Series 1 Troublesome Trucks will be decent and brake van. Only a few trucks though, not massive rake of them. Toby is only a tram.

Duck; Some wagons. No wagons in particular really, just any.

Oliver; Some wagons. No wagons in particular really, just any. Perhaps Oliver should also pull S.C.Ruffey, has Oliver played a major part in the story with S.C.Rruffey in. Don't forget to add Toad, the Ex-GWR Brake Van facing to rear of the train.

Stepney; Some sort of freight train, but not too many for him. A brake van at the rear of the train, as well.

Bill and Ben; Troublesome Trucks, working together on the same train or on their own. You decide!

Emily; I assume you do not own the Bachmann Emily's Coaches, do you? This is not correct, but I think a good substute instead is Old Slow Coach, with his face facing the rear of the train.

Spencer; His Special Coaches. Brake coach at the rear. Spencer usually only has two coaches, one composite and one brake.

Murdoch; A long freight train will suit Murdoch best. Tankers, open wagons, ventilated vans, anything. If not, another option for Murdoch is the Large Breakdown Crane. He looks good with that also and he capable of pulling that, as he is a Class 9F.

Flying Scotsman; None of the Hornby Thomas & Friends rolling really suits Flying Scotsman very well, so I bought the Hornby RailRoad LNER Teak Express Coaches for him a number of years ago. This will be alright if you wnat to do this, as I do that myself!  😆

Devious Diesel; A train of the Tar Tankers, Sodor Fuel Tankers Oil Tankers and / or the Troublesome Trucks will go geat with him, that's if he will behave proerly whilst on display!  😆

'Arry and Bert; Pulling / pushing the Sodor Scrap Co. Wagons.

Dart; Is a funny one really. He does not pull much really, mainly being at the Vicarstown Dieselworks for most of thr time. Perhaps nothing or the odd Sodor Fuel Tanker, as if has bringing some diesel to a fellow diesel locomotve, who has run out.

Diesel D261; A mixed heavy freight train. No wagons in particular.

Diesel D7101 Hymek 'Bear'; A mixed heavy freight train. No wagons in particular.

If you have anymore questions, please ask. I don't think the Cicus Wagons suit any locomotve in particular, just one that's good at pulling heavy trains. The Ice Cream Van is also a specail wagon too, so could also be added to the Circus train, or behind a locomotive on it's own.

  2. HO uses the same gauge of track as OO Gauge, but the scale is slight small, so HO locomotives and rolling stock are smaller in height and length comparision to OO Gauge locomotives and rolling stock.

UK mainly uses OO. Other countries use HO more than we do, but HO products are sold in the UK still.

I think we going off topic just a bit!  😆

  3. I think that Lima Models model might be a HO Gauge wagon, so perhaps not that particular wagon, but a decal of a Coca-Cola glass bottle on a wagon would be good. That is inconic, also.

Oxford Diecast in recent years have produced number of lorries and Ford Transit vans, in Coca-Cola livery and some of the also included the glass bottle icon too!  😉 😀

  4. @Kirkm5238

I do apolgise greatly, I have just found reply now, on the 19/12/2019, that you made on the 30/07/2019! I had no clue until now, that you had even replied!  😳

R317 Diesel with the white face is rare, but not as rare as R9684 Murdoch, let's say. I would say a factory sealed box and untoched / unused model woukd be worth £100.00 perhaps, if not, more. It really depends what people are willing to pay, at the time the sale / auction is being made at.

When you say "Thomas with the red face", I assume you mean either:

    • R9104 Thomas the Tank Engine, with the pristine body Thomas, with the tired worn out face, exclusive to ModelZone in 2009 and limited production of only 500 models.
    • R9260 Thomas & The Great Discovery Train Set from 2008, which included an exclusive Thomas, with the same tired face and muddy body.

Which one are talking about, or are talking aout both?

  5. I am very sure that Hornby Hobbies' license with The Coca-Cola Company would not have been cheap; So what are the chances of there being some more Coca-Cola branded locomotives / wagons being anncounced and released, during the 2020 product range? Surely Hornby Hobbies will want to make use of the license and produce as much profit from it, as possible, from all of their brands?

Also, what are the chances that there will be some of the other Coca-Cola barnds being used on some Hornby locomotives / wagons, such as Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and / or Diet Coke?

Please share your thoughts and opinions below. All are welcome to.  😀

  6. I think they are worth the money, at not much more than £100.00. Yes, it's an older and ex-Lima Models tooling, but when you consider the more up-to-date train packs of the two power cars only from Hornby cost a lot more than that, over £200.00 new, it's worth. The expensive models have a lot more detail are a lt more delicate however. I really do think the new GWR High Speed Train Set is worth the money.

  7. Yes, I thought it was Diesel D261's face, but I didn't think it was off the Hornby locomotive (R9064), as the face itself appeared to be too small.

I do believe also that the faces on the ERTL models / toys are closer to N Gauge, than OO Gauge / 1:76 Scale.

ERTL Thomas & Friends models / toys, are becoming ever harder to find, esepecially new and sealed in the packets.

  8. @New lad on block

Thank you for updating the update image. I forgot about the RailRoad BR Bagnall Shunter released this year (2019). I still need to buy myself one, before the stock of them dries up. I like the Class 06 and Bagnall Shnuters, so I want to try and collect as many as I can, of them!  😆

    @Jimbopuff

Yes, Dart's livery is nice. Dart works at the Vicarstown Diselworks, along with Den, a Sentinel Shunter. Den, Dart, were two of the new characters, joining the series in the 2011 film, Day of the Diesels, along with some other characters. Hornby announced and released Dart in 2011 also, so Hornby producing a model of character that released in the TV series in the same was very fast really. I was surprised to see him join the range so quickly myself. I do wish though that Hornby announced Den to be released the same year as Dart, or a few years after before Hornby gave the license up. Would be nice to own both.

  9. Great purchase, new lad on block.  😀

Looks like you bought two of each? I have one of each of the Hornby Coca-Cola LWB Box Van and Tank Wagon on pre-order, but they have not arrived yet.

I find it amusing how the Hornby Coca-Cola products, all state on the boxes "FOR ADULT COLLECTORS", when the locootive and the wagons toolings and basis, are all from the Hornby RailRoad range, which is for everyone of all ages. All I csn think the reason for that wording, is because they are Coca-Cola branded products?

  10. The Santa's Sleigh in Transit LWB Van is an old tooling and is the worst wagon in the train set, due to it's lightness. I am unsire of it has any weights inside, but ot has, they don't do anything. As walkingthedog says above, replacing the plastic wheels with metal wheels should make a differnce. Also, opening the van up and fitting a weight would help too. I am sure there will plenty of space inside! 😆

Those LWB Vans are always fitted with plastic wheels and it comes from the Hornby RailRoad range. The 7 Plank Open Wagon containig the presents resin load is much nicer, with more detail and also contains nice spoked metal wheels.

  11. I have puchased both versions of the Hornby RailRoad R6368 BR 20 Ton Brake Van, so I can distinguish myself the differeces between the two models. Will be a lot easier than using Internet images. I may also upoad some images here, if somebody would like to see them.

I have also found third version of the BR 20 Ton Brake Van from the Hornby RailRoad range, which appears to be exclusive to a triple pack. The triple pack in question is the Hornby RailRoad R6365 Breakdown Pack. The BR 20 Ton Brake Van included contains the fleet number 'B952040'.

Hornby RailRoad R6365 Breakdown Pack also contains a red Tredegar 5014 LWB Open Wagon and a yellow BR Breakdown Crane.
