I noticed the older versions of UK and China made Gordon's and James' Coaches in the boxes to the side, just couldn't see the 2015 / 2016 box design, holding either versions of Gordon's and James' Coaches!
That's a shame. I believed you about R9749 Spencer (Limited Production) being factory sealed. The polystrere tray that Spencer is in has a plastic cover that is sellotaped on, so that proves it is factory sealed. The orginal Spencer model from 2008, R9257, was the same as well. I wanted to keep mine factory sealed, but I couldn't resist to open it! 🤔 😆
Oh yeah, The Great Discovery sub-theme / collection is on display.
Where is that display on display at, out of interest? At your home?
I am glad you had the older and most recent versions of Thomas, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James and Percy was not on display.

Fantastic photos new lad on block. Thank you so much for posting these. 😀
Is that R9257 Spencer and R9750 Spencer (Limited Production) on display?
You also don't appear to have the following on display:
R9295 James' Composite Coach
R9296 James' Brake Coach
R9297 Gordon's Composite Coach
R9298 Gordon's Brake Coach
Unless these four coaches are on the main display shelves out of the boxes?

Hi new lad on block. There's no rush for this, but in your own time, is there you can post detailed close-up images of your R9064 Diesel D261 and R9097 Diesel D7101 'Bear' please? Thank you. 😀
Even though both are different locomotives, both are non-major characters and came to the Island of Sodor, to help out with freight work.

@New lad on block
Sorry about the late reply, as I ahve only just found the image, just over a day late! 😬 😆 😉 😀
That Hornby Thomas & Friends display is massive! I can't spot a single model that is missing. Thank you for posting the image. 😀
Looks as if you had both Spencer's on display; R9257 Spencer and R9749 Spencer (Limited Production)? You decided to finally open the 2012 Spencer model then?
I do believe that image should have been posted in the Thomas the Tank Engine sub-forum?

Stephenson's Rocket is a wild prediction, but a newly tooled model would be very nice, I am sure for 2020. I imagine that would be very expesnive though, for the customers to buy! 😆

@atom3624
There's a chance that StuBaggy Boy owns the 2015 copyighted Thomas, without the dummy headlamp, but these batches sold fast and mainly through pre-orders. Being that StuBaggyBoy purchased his R9285 Thomas Passenger and Goods Train Set very recently for his granddaughter, there's a good chance it's from the second batch from 2016, which is the Thomas with the dummy headlamp. The chassis' of these Thomas' are copyrighted 2016.
@StuBaggyBoy
I do believe that Hornby went through a bad stage with faults etc, with the majority of them ending up on the 2015 and 2016 Thomas & Friends models. The models I have purchased that were made after those two years have been better from Hornby, but those are not from the Thomas & Friends range.
I understand your frustration however. Many people have put up with these and gone through them. I'm sorry to read that you have had this trouble. 😀

I have that as my desktop wallpaper currently, too! 😆 😉 😀

I didn't know that. I don't any cureved point at present, but if I do in the future and decide to change my layout, I will remember that. All of my track at present is PECO track anyway, apart from the diamond crossing, which is a Hornby piece. The PECO version was just slightly too long and wouldn't fit. I like to keep all of my track to the same manufactuer, if I can.

@atom3624
Sounds as if you own the older models. Your verisions sounds as if they are prior 2001. There are no copyright years stamped on the chassis' in white?

@GWR & LNER fan 4472
That's a good diagram. Well done. 😀
@RAF96 and @walkingthedog
What's wrong with curved points? Derailing issues? I have never used them, hence my question.

@New lad on block
Yes, those fish vans would be arlight as part of The Flying Kipper, but Ventilated Vans and Utility Vans are also used in a jumbled up train, so I don't fish vans and no other rolling stock (Excluding the brake van).

@walkingthedog
I will tighten them up.
@Sarahagain
Thank you. I purhased that tool when Thomas' conrods came loose. I will check Edward's, Henry's, Gordon's and James' before they get ran.

That's odd. I think the 2019 catalogue is correct with the running numbers. I don't think they made that mistake in there.

@New lad on block
So you own 12 of the same red 2571 clockwork locomotive? Did you buy all 12 together in that box?
That missing Class 06 looks odd. Not seen before. It looks like coloured yellow and red plastic pieces to me. It does not look as nice as the other painted Hornby Class 06's.
Thanks for the photos. 😀

Each of the four coaches have a different running number. If collected the Hornby Harry Potter products, I would buy one of each of the four coaches and have one brake coach behind the locomotives, with the brake comparment end of the coach behind the tender of the locomotive, then the two composites and then the brake coach.

I've never seen that set before. It's simple small train set with an oval of track, but it's a bargain price. Even the locomotive's RRP price on it's own would be more than £25.00.

All of them have had test run at the model shops I purchased them at, but only Thomas and Percy have been one the layout so far, for an extensive amount of time. I have heard that R9291 Gordon and R9292 Henry's conrods are loose too and I ahv checked mine and they appear to be loose. I fear that if run them for a few minutes all that will fall apart. If that happns and of the rods bend, I fear that will ruin the models. I do not know if spare conrods can be purchased.

Oh, I see. gtis could have been talking in that contex. The post isn't very clear, to be honest with you.

The motor inside of Thomas is not unique to the Thomas & Friends range. Thomas' chassis and motor are the same as the what the 0-6-0's have, from the RailRoad range.

These plans sound very good, but will take a while to build I reckon. Please post photos of construction of it along the way and of course the finished layout!

No, it wouldn't take much imagination to take some rolling stock from a standard model railway range and them to Thomas themed layout. The reason I only tried to mention the Thomas rolling stock though, was because by the sound of new lad on blcok's original was question for help, he wanted to use Thomas models only. I do not know if that is true, but that's I what I understood from his original post, but I am probably wrong by that.

@New lad on block
The box that those six Hornby Early play red 2571 clockwork locomotives are sitting in, I assume is how they transported from the factory to the shops in?
Wow, you own a lot of Hornby Class 06's! 😆
I like the Hornby Class 06 and the Bagnall Diesel Shunters. They are cheap and basic yes, but are charming for some reason and I like them.
I own the RailRoad BR blue, the Virgin Trains (2004 Collectors Club Model) and the Pullman (2008 Collectors Model). I am looking to buy at least one Bartellos' Big Top Circus livery Class 06 split from the Hornby RailRoad Train Set, but they are rare and expensive.
Thank you for posting today's photos, new lad on block. I enjoyed viewing them. 😀

Oh cool. Your home is a museum then! 😆
Thank you the hand drawn plan. 😀
I have viewed the earlier images on this thread a number of times, via my iPhone, where I can zoom in on the images and detect the models better, than on my laptop. Something that caught my eye that the Spencer on the left with R9702 Spencer's Composite Coach, is that the R9749 Spencer (Limited Production)? The reason I ask is, that I noticed that handrails down the sides of Spencer's boiler stand out better, as on this model they are black. The handrails down the sides of the original R9257 Spencer, are sliver. I do believe that your R9257 Spencer is coupled up to R9703 Spencer's Brake Coach. Have I got the two Spencer's on your cabinet display, the correct way around?
You also have three Old Slow Coach models on display, so which Old Slow Coach is coupled behind Emily, who is on the main shelf display, on the 8th shelf down, to the right of your Gordon's and his R9297/R9298 coaches?
