I have also recieved that email today, RDS. I think it is very good news for people who live outside of the UK, who want to be apart of the club, can now do so again.

@bulleidboy
Please don't worry about. You can call me what ever you wish to. I do not mind. 😉 😀
I see. I wonder how much Hornby sold that 0-6-0 for then. Looks as if for three years then, 2015 - 2017, there was not a free 0-4-0 locomotive then. Very interesting.

@Bulleidboy and @Jimyjames
There was an 0-6-0, which was a one-off. Would have been nice of they released another 0-6-0 for 2020. It may not have been from 2015, it might have been from 2014 then but in one of those years, a heavily weathered 0-6-0 scrap locomotive was released as part of the Hornby RailRoad range. I bought one on eBay last year, but the box soes not state which it's from.
@geordi_q
That's the model, but I had forgotten the product number, hence why I didn't mention it! Thank you. 😀

I see. Thank you for information JB and I was not doubting you, to be perfectly clear and honest. 😉 😀

I went to my local Tesco supermarket this afternoon and they had on catalogue left, but it was damaged. I don't want to spend £8.00 / £9.00 on a damaged catalogue.

I need to go to Tesco ASAP (As soon as possible), but I am probably already too late! 🤔 😆 😉 😀

I know that you said Brian. I was qouting you, without using the pink qoute box which a waste of space. 😀
Without a turntable, locomotives would not be able to turn around without a crane lifting them off the track, which not necessary, really! 😆
I think they look better nose first, but I understand why they are easier to for the driver to see where it he / she is going, if the locomotive runs cab first. Apart from steam locomotives, I don't think most diesel locomotives have a front and a rear. They run just fine in either direction.

Thank you. 😀
I just kept reading posts here at the Airfix Forum, where people asking when there images will be approven and that won't be for a while yet. I don't think admin would post any of the fourms the update, as there is no Adminstrator, by sounds of things, hence why no images are being approved presently.

For many years an 0-4-0 locomotive is included with the membership (With exception to 2015, when 0-6-0 was the club locomotive that year). I think a locomotive has been included in the club since Hornby started it, but don't qoute me on that.

I also believe that Class 20's would run nose first, that how I would run one if I owned a Class 20 model (Which I don't). As proven by Brian's (walkingthedog's) image, with two Class 20's coupled together, nose to nose, that wasn't always the case.

@walkingthedog
I see; Still worth the money, even without the box and paperwork.
@JeremiahBunyan
Shall I assume you have been in contact with Hornby Hobbies, about the tooling for the new APT model and the learn that the tooling for the original model was destroyed?

I gathered you were talking about over 20 years ago. Still, selling it for 5p, thay may have given it away. I am sure 25 years ago, the Hornby Railways APT Train Pack was worth more than that.

Oh, I understand now. Thank you for your help, woodcote and Andy P.. 😀

OK, I did not know that the Community Moderators on this forum knew about it. I assume then that all Community Moderators on all of the forums, know about the Adminstartor's depature.
I am sorry for making the announcement, but it appeared that members here on the Airfix Forum were wondering why it is taking so long for their images to be approved, so I thought I would share the information that I have learned over at the Hornby Forum. I hope that's alright?

@Paul Brown and @Ratch
Thank you both, for your information. 😀
Hornby Hobbies appears to have had exclusive products sold at M&S for a long time. In the Hornby model railways brand, exclusive Train Sets have sold at M&S with their logo on in the past, as well. It appears to be not exlusive to none of the brands that Hornby Hobbies own.

That was a find and good cheap price you found it! 5p! The seller may as well had given it away! 😆 😉 😀
£30.00 is a chaep price too. It's worth more than that.

I had an original APT and was very impressed with the way it tilted.
Do you not have the original model anymore, Brian?

I see. Why personalize the boxes though in M&S bradning, so the kits can't be sold in other shops, apart from at M&S?

Whilst searching eBay, I have come across several Airfix QUICK BUILD kits / sets, in boxes with the 'M&S' logo underneath the 'Airfix' logo. The boxes are black and light grey coloured, instead of the usual orange colour.
Does anybody know why these versions exist? I don't go to M&S shops very often, but I when I have done, I have never seen these sold there. I assume the stock I have seen on eBay, was originally sold by M&S? I am just puzzled as to why they exisit and to why Hornby Hobbies have personalized these with the M&S logo on.
If anyone knows why these exist, please comment below. Thank you. 😀

Some news that we have recently learned over at the Hornby Forum, that the Adminstrator has left, so it looks as if posts with images that need approving will be waiting for a long time yet, before they do finally get approved.
I do believe that this post will be of interest to many users: Hornby Forum - Forum Adminstrator - UPDATE.

@andy P.
I didn't know that, so thank you. 😀
It sounds to myself, that Scalextric Spark Plug Wireless Control is very similar to the Hornby Digital eLink system, as part the Hornby model railway brand, of Hornby Hobbies. I can understand such systems being created, as the main thing the world cares about these days, is computer / smartphone / tablet technology, sadly.
So as regards to the "skins", what does that do? Does it change the look of the APP, or does it change the colour / look of the Scalextric car or cars, depending how many cars the person is using, at that moment of time?

I haven't checked my Tesco yet. I had a feeling they stock them, but not this early after the Hornby 2020 range announcements.

Those 0-6-0's have Type M Motors, not Ringfield Motors. Hatton's Model Railways has got that wrong. How old is this R3066 model now? Over 10 years?
