  1. So the catalogues are in stock at Tesco supermarkets and at WHSmith shops already?

    This the third year in a row, for the comined price for the latest issue of Hornby Magazine and for the Hornby Catalogue, sold on the shelf as seperate items.

  2. I always surpised to see a Hornby Roadshow 2020 Wagon, but I also believe the reason why it's come back, is because 2020 is a special year for Hornby. There may be Hornby a Hornby Roadshow 2021 Wagon released in 2021, but if not, then it will be special release ths year only; Amongest the other Hornby 100th Anniversary present products to themselves.

  3. I'm not sure if I want to rejoin this year. I'm not kean on the Class 101's very much. Will think about it, until the Hornby Collector's Club comes back into stock!* 😆  😉  😀

    * I didn't know the Collector's Club could be out of stock. If sign up tot the club when it launches for that year, you have wait until nearly the end of the year for the stock to arrive anyway. The most recent issue of 'The Collector' magazine has only just been dispatched out to the members, so I don't understand what's out of stcok about it!  😆

  4. In regards to Batman Car, why couldn't Hornby Hobbies created a Batmobile from any era (I don't care which one), rather creating a made-up Batman liveried car? Too much money for licensing, perhaps?

    I assume the set contains the same cars and will have no difference?

    What do you mean by "the Spark Plug APP will get an alternative DC Comics skin"?

  5. TheAMRModelRailway, welcome to the Hornby Forum.  😀

    I almost agree with you, but I prefer the Hornby models to be honest with you. They have more detail, despite being incoorect. My collection focuses on the Hornby models and the Bachmann Trains models I own are the models that Hornby didn't release.

  6. @LC&DR

    £15.00 for a well detailed / modern tooled wagon is not overpriced, but I feel for older made wagons, such as the SWB Tanker and the LWB Box Van are over priced, even though they contain classic Hornby collectible liveries; Despite the original tin plated models sell for hundreds or pounds, if not thousands of pounds.

  7. @Yelrow and @walkingthedog

    I understand all of that/ I love the hobby and I do not want to change my hobby. I do realise that Hornby products are relatiely cheap to some countries, but would be nice if they were cheaper.

    Take the two Retro Triple Wagon Packs announced for this year's range. Each contains a SWB Tanker and two LWB Box Vans; Both wagons Hornby have produced longer than I have existed for. I am sure with the logos, licensing has been acquired to use the logos on them, which affects the price. I still don't understand how those can be RRP of £44.99, when they are effectively RailRoad wagons and have less detail. Even with the licensing, I still feel they are overpriced, even though you can look at those wagons and say they are about £15.00 each without the packaging. I feel those wagons should be £10.00 each, so £30.00 for one triple pack.

    I am just glad I live in the country I live in, as model railway products are cheaper in the UK than other countries. I do feel sorry for other countries though, who pay even more.

  8. I agree with you, mjb1961. The prices today for all model railway products is a joke. Every year it goes up and up and up and to be honest with you, not many models are worth their price tag anymore.

    I also never pay the RRP. I always shop around and try and find the lowest price for a model that I want.

  9. As a long-term DC and Batman fan, I am very interetsted in these releases into the Scaelextric barnd, this year;

    • Scalextric DC C4140 Batman Car
    • Scalextric DC C4142 Joker Car

    Please feel express your opinions about these two cars, about other new releases you are and are not looking to this year. Thank you.  😀

  10. @LBSCR Nerd

    I agree, but Hornby shoud have released R9098 Flying Scotsman back in 2005, with the second tender, to be honest with you. The product would have costed more, but I wouldn't have minded that.

    @m_duck

    Welcome back!  😉  😀

    Yes, when I want to run my R9098 Flying Scotsman with two tenders, I take the water tender out of my R2935 Flying Scotsman USA Tour 1969 Train Pack, from 2011. Sadly, the decals and the paint colours, do not match up. Not much can be done however, when a water tender in LNER 4472 livery, has not been released that has painted the same colour as R9098 Flying Scotsman is.
