    You have changed the motor three times? My goodness. Worried about my two R9287 Thomas' now.

    @walkingthedog

    All the 2015 / 2016 made Thomas models are from a bad batch Brian. There's so many faults with these models, sadly.

  2. £25.00 is very cheap for a Train Set. Of course they are allowed to sell it at that price. Asda could sell it for £1.00 if they wanted to, but they would loose money of each sale!  😆

    Which Train Srt is it? There's bee lots named with the worde 'industrial'.

  3. RichJT, welcome to the Hornby Forum. 😀

    As walkingthedog mentioned above this comment, Hornby are officially announcing their 2020 releases on the 06/01/2020. There will no way from now until that day, of knowing what the Hornby 2020 Wagon will be. I do understand your eagerness though, as I collect these wagons myself.

    Yes, I do believe a few members have been winding me up, but I shall not name names!  😆

    I didn't mention about the GWR Autocoaches, as Hornby or Bachmann Trains, never released these characters.

    I didn't add Donald and Douglas, as Hornby has never released those two twins before. Bachmann Trains did in their Thomas & Friends HO/OO range, but I don't think new lad on block owns any of these models.

    When I was typing about Stepney, I was thinking about the story / episode, 'Train Stops Play', as well!  😆

    In reagards to Bear pulling some caoches, he goes nicely with BR blue Mk2 Coaches, but these also are not part of the Hornby Thomas & Friends range. I didn't want to add to much to my list, from the main ranges.

    The China Clay Wagons are also not part of the Hornby Thomas & Friends range, so that will involve new lad on block finding some from a standard range. The 77036 6 Ton Wagon from Bachmann Trains, isn't a bad model to be used as China Clay Wagons, but I doubt new lad on block owns these. I own two of them.

    Faces on steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, coaches and wagons stay where they are. They move to the other end when they reverse.

    None of them have tails!  😆

    No, the Island of Sodor cannot be seen everyone 100 years or ever, simply becasue it does not exist. I am sure I have said that already!  😆

    @walkingthedog

    The Thomas you see at heritage railways, during the 'Day Out with Thomas' events, is a real life privately owned locomotive, modified at great cost to look like Thomas.

    No magic is involved.

    I thought might be. Sady, that was made in either 2015 or 2016, when all the most recent Hornby Thomas models suffered problems. General construction problems and paint issues. I also suggest you take a close look at the con rods, as most of the 2015 and / or 2016 Thomas' have loose con rods, which will fall apart if you do not tighten them up, of about 5 - 10 minutes of running. This happened to my R9287 Thomas, from 2016.

  7. Driver and / or fireman would be watching the track, whilst the locomotive is reversing, if there's no shunter or workman about at the time.

    The reason you can't see the Island of Sodor on Google Earth is because it does not exist. All of the characters, the towns and do not exist in real life. It's all fiction.

    I don't think it's a marketing poly at all. Thomas & Friends 'based on The Railway Series by Rev W Awdry', as stated in the intro to the TV series.

  8. Well Hornby Early Play T116 Pushalong Train Set, is under a product rnge called 'Early Play' and the Train Set is called 'Pushalong' so with such words used, to myself the product is for babies. The locomotive has the words 'MY FIRST TRAIN', on the boiler, which also suggests it's for babies. The box does say 3+ on it, but I think that is over aged. The Thomas models say 3+ plus on the boxes and most of them, I wouldn't give to a 3 year old.

    The majority of that has gone over my head, even though I have read your comment twice!  😆

    The locomotives or engines as they are called in the books and in the TV series, do not control themselves. They have driver and fireman in the cabs for the steamies and a driver in the cab for the diesels.

    A few of them have gone off themselves without a driver, but they don't have much control. It's supposed to be humans running them and each locomotive has a face and are alive. I don't belive any magic is involved, at all.

    The Island of Sodor is a made up island and on are the two railways; North Western Railway (Standard gauge) and the Skarloey Railway (Narrow gauge).

    @New lad on block

    You are very welcome.  😀

    You are welcome. 😀

    @New lad on block

    I have never noticed the Hornby Early Play T116 Pushalong Train Set before. I thnk that is becuase they are not part of model railways!  😆

    Seems like the Hornby Junior range is not Hornby's first attempt at producing toy trains, aimed for babies a/d or very young children.

    Managing your time with everything is important and I am sure we all have more important things to do, before we can improve and enjoy our hobbies. I am amazed really that in over year, you have that near complete layout. I say near complete, as no layout can ever be completed. Something can always be changed and / or added to each layout.
