  1. @Rallymatt - if you think the TT:120 thread is misguided… don’t look at the Accurascale thread about their new carbon capture investment: https://www.rmweb.co.uk/forums/topic/185656-accurascale-–-your-climate-hero/ That thread got locked within the same day it was created due to the ‘interesting’ views expressed by some! RMWeb is definitely not a particularly calm, chilled place to discuss toy trains!
  2. You need to view the webpage’s html source code (also known as metadata) search within that for ‘stock-level’. A negative value is displayed for items on preorder. A positive value is displayed for items that are in stock - but this only indicates the amount of stock currently allocated to the website, it provides no indication of quantity held in storage. Neither provides an accurate picture of batch size - but preorder quantity at least gives an indication of the minimum it is likely to be!
  3. According to the website 478 have been sold suggesting that the batch size is approx 500? Agreed that this sounds positive news for (hopefully) further Hornby involvement in the S&DR Bicentennial. 🤞
  4. @Tim Allen - the option you haven’t mentioned is whether people would prefer split or central headcode boxes! (I realise this may just be me… but I’ve always loved the central & loathed the split & while I would prefer BR Green - this would have a bigger impact on my purchase choice than livery!) 🤦‍♂️
  5. @Trainmadtommo - if you are referring to R2599 ‘The Royal Wessex’ those coaches are in BR SR green. That is actually a different green again to both SR Olive & SR Malachite. SR Olive is the darkest of the 3 & SR Malachite the lightest. BR SR is much closer to Malachite but slightly darker.
  6. @John-375749 - what DCC controller are you using? From your description, that is not the issue that this thread is about. Original issue was that the app failed to read/respond to CV29 changes & therefore direction within app couldn’t be changed! What you are describing is that the app & your DCC controller are setup to use opposite directions.
  7. @Silver Fox 17 are the wheel b2b’s identical? Or could variation there be affecting some more than others?
  8. (Also with motor out of mesh) Does the rest of the loco’s drive mechanism - gears, wheels, coupling rods etc. turn freely? If another fault causes the drive mech to lock up - it can easily result in damage to the physically stalled motor & would need to be resolved before replacing motor.
  9. When 1 reaction is too limiting… Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed reading the latest update on this fantastic project - I also wish to express commiserations to its developer @What About The Bee for his disappointment.
  10. The stock levels only indicate the amount of stock currently allocated to the website. They give no indication about either production quantities or stock levels in storage warehousing.
  11. hm.customercare@hornby.com is the direct support email address for HM7000 issues.
  12. I don’t use that view, as I found it too different (to old forum) & too cluttered to be at all enjoyable. So that question is better directed at anyone who does actually use it! However from a website navigation/interface design perspective, personally I would have expected a ‘recent activity’ option to track where in the navigation structure/tree the user is & show recent activity relative to that. So if you click it at the root/main page, you would see new stuff for all 3 fora. Or if you click it after selecting a forum, (e.g. Hornby) you would see all new train stuff. Or if you click it after making topic selections, you would see all new stuff within just those topics.
  13. It looks like a poor electrical connection. Are the pace car’s braids (electrical pickups) correctly adjusted to make decent contact with the track power rails? If no adjust them to do so. However if yes, there may be an internal wiring fault/loose connection within the pace car itself.
  14. The company is a very small (possibly one man) outfit called HRMS. It apparently is still supported, in the sense of installation & configuration assistance provided. As to whether any development is actually occurring…
  15. The (de)selection of topics filter only functions on the ‘forum’* view - it has no effect on the ‘recent activity’ view (newspaper button.) *forum view - click on preferred forum (Hornby/Scalextric/Airfix) -> select preferred topics ->(if you select all topics) choose page 2 & scroll approx half-way down (to skip pinned threads) -> you will then see all the new additions to only the topics that interest you.
  16. @ntpntpntp Where on earth is the motor/mechanism in those minuscule machines?
  17. Just imagine… Rocket or the Chaldrons in TT:120! 😱 …a flippin’ magnifier would be required to even find them! 🤦‍♂️😂
  18. I’d certainly appreciate Hornby releasing either whole chassis, or at least complete sets of components - to encourage modelling & individual creations. They obviously would need to separate these from ‘warranty spares’ to prevent modellers compromising rtr repairs. Regarding them using (even slightly more) common or generic chassis for their own models, whilst I’m sure some (including myself) would happily accept this, I fear it would put off others that are attracted by greater accuracy. Thereby creating a finescale/railroad divide between models that possibly the TT:120 market isn’t yet developed enough to accommodate? Perhaps the J50 is just an unfortunate example? (The uneven wheel spacing is quite pronounced - and likely still to be noticeable in 1:120 scale!)
  19. @John-L It is not too surprising that the OO doom-mongers aren’t threatened by O gauge models, since their size & price restrict that market from causing overlap. Equally N gauge modellers find greater dexterity & eyesight beneficial - again restricting market overlap. Unfortunately the very advantages of TT:120 that have been so clearly highlighted (accurate scale-gauge, size/space reduction, no significant loss of quality/detail & no significant increase to fragility) absolutely overlap & encroach upon the potential for OO market growth - just like OO did to O more than half a century ago. Therefore certain doom-mongers have a vested interest in TT:120’s failure, and want to (strongly) express their lack of interest - to discourage its potential for success.
  20. If you happen to possess either: • a swivel/wheeled stool or computer chair or • an ordinary stool/chair & a modeller’s turntable/lazy susan Then (with an appropriate sized box to achieve desired height) a bodger’s moving tripod can be achieved. I accept that not everyone will have access to the above - but they are slightly more common than specialist photographic equipment.
  21. Considering the quality of the modelling on display at High Fell - I think the only part that might genuinely be described as a bodge (and even then not a serious criticism) - is the handheld/tripod-less camerawork. 😉
  22. To add to the Accura-wishlist: • British Steel PTA tippler wagons (would go well with H’s Class 37.) • Class 55 Deltic (would look excellent with H’s Mk 1s & 2s.) • Ruston 88DS (would be amazing for shunting yards - but may be too small for TT:120!)
  23. They’ve so far sold 38 of 120 sets (in approx 24hrs) - that won’t be enough info to base a final decision on. I would therefore read the above statements as: • they have absolutely no intention of giving up on OO. • technically they aren’t making any TT:120 models - they’ve commissioned these figures from modelu. • they will only consider properly entering the TT:120 market if something indicates that it would be viable to do so.
  24. I have been as delighted with Accurascale’s oo Chaldrons, as I have with Hornby’s TT:120 wagons (they are both similarly tiny & with incredible levels of detail.) I’m certain that any Accura-involvement in TT:120 could only be a positive. I too have ordered a set to support/encourage further participation.
  25. Considering (a) what Newmarket is famous for & (b) the supply-chain ‘problems’ that Tesco (amongst others) experienced a few years ago… I’m surprised that sausages & Newmarket are a good association?! 😳🤷‍♂️
