  1. The web image for 50’ brake/parcel coach is identical for both era 4 & era 5 variants - hopefully the era 4 one is incorrect & the real model will be blood & custard! 🤞
  2. They look marvellous, congratulations Bee. 👏 What are you using to paint/colo(u)r the bolt heads with? might the tip of a bodkin, pin, or needle (with aid of magnifier) be appropriate?
  3. Whilst horses may have started pulling a couple of carts in the Northeast - I don’t think the ‘railways’ would have necessarily been born without assistance from a certain Cornish inventor & the owner of a Welsh ironworks!
  4. If it helped attract even more new (cough) ‘adult’ modellers to want a TT:120 layout… I can’t see why a coke liveried 08 & tankers etc would be such a heresy? Not suggesting anyone would (or not) want such a thing, but the OO ones seem a permanent fixture (like Santa’s Express) so unless they contribute to Hornby’s multimillion stock mountain, they must be fairly popular!
  5. The ‘health ticks’ are simply indicating that the various parts of profile installed properly (or not) - they are unrelated to versions & whether updated ones are available.
  6. Hornby have given no indication of a sound 6pin HM7k. Definitely in the (in)famous ‘never say never’ category until a future circuit redesign allows.
  7. @AlsRaven contact Hornby Customer Service - there is probably a simple glitch on your account that can be fixed quickly, if they are made aware.
  8. Considering the date of the announcement, it appears aimed at those who would be tempted to fill a steamy Prince of Wales, with something that isn’t water!
  9. I wholeheartedly agree that it would be beneficial if all manufacturers included a blanking plate in accessory bag of decoder fitted locos. Not just for the reason above, it would also encourage DCC fence-sitters to plump for the fitted model, knowing it would be usable whichever way they go & potentially cheaper if they do choose DCC!
  10. @ateshci Hornby advise against almost all DC controllers (except HM6000 at highest PWM frequency.) The older ones due to lack of transient voltage spike protection (which can kill the decoder) & the more modern ones due to lower PWM frequencies being mistaken (by decoder) for DCC & resulting in inconsistent sound/control.
  11. As has been stated many times HM7000 decoders can be controlled by app or a DCC controller! 🤦‍♂️
  12. If you remove the decoder you will need to purchase a blanking plate to replace it with - leaving the socket empty completely isolates the circuitry & loco cannot work. Only the DCC Ready (i.e. no decoder fitted) locos come with a blanking plate. It is strongly recommended not to try running HM7000 decoder fitted locos using an analogue controller - you would be mixing delicate modern electronics with a power source that can easily cause them problems/damage. Hence this mode is disabled by default & would need manually enabling at customer’s own risk. You are correct that R7337 is a recommended power supply for HM7000 (but you don’t need the digital power track - this is only needed for those connecting a DCC controller to the track.)
  13. Is your Falcon fitted with a HM7000 TXS decoder? If yes, please check the following: • Have you installed the latest version of sound profile from app? (it contains a few bug fixes over the factory installed version.) • Can you check the value of CV19 - there is a current bug that can cause this to to be altered to an incorrect value (triggering the consist address) - if incorrect, resetting this to default value will regain control. Alternatively if a different decoder type/brand, please say what it is.
  14. When you say loss, do you mean complete loss of control? Have you caught the ‘stop layout’ button? (it changes to ‘resume layout’ if you do!) If loss means your roster of linked decoders completely disappeared - deleting & reinstalling app could well delete all linked decoders and result in the need to re-link them all again. Please can you provide more detail of the issue you’re experiencing.
  15. There is a bug that appears to alter CV19 to an incorrect value (triggering the consist address.) Check CV19 & if incorrect reset it to default - then movement control should be regained.
  16. @Dodge1965 your only fail was forgetting this forum is rated PG (although members have to be 18 to post - it is still viewable by all ages.) @Dave the Busker a joke was made about the large weed that didn’t clear the censor.
  17. Or collude with redacted to screw over innocent…. Train of thought interrupted to prevent crossing line into political diatribe!
  18. Maybe suggest using a brush cutter or strimmer - rather than a phrase that could be misinterpreted! 😉
  19. Nothing wrong with that - just unfortunate if you hope/expect that tooling to still exist in a usable condition. Modifying tooling (to remove moulded detail or panels) will only be possible in certain circumstances. However adding separately fitted/moving parts instead, will significantly increase the production cost & may well then push the viable selling price above the railroad bracket!
  20. To those of us that it does (and don’t wish to risk anything) can simply avoid 3rd party ‘compatible’ equipment.
  21. If the original tools still existed in a usable state - I can’t imagine that Hornby wouldn’t be producing models from them. However they are extremely unlikely to create new tooled models for the railroad range - they wouldn’t sell enough of them to make a lower price viable. The railroad range is (almost exclusively*) for older toolings that have already sold enough for viable lower prices. * Several of the ‘design clever’ models are the exception to this rule , but they probably highlight the viability issues - with the exception of the Hall/Hogwarts’ Express!
  22. The price of the sound fitted variants seems odd. They apparently have Next 18 sockets - so it would be reasonable to imagine that HM7k decoders might be used. However if that were the case, it would be significantly cheaper to purchase the loco & decoder separately & fit it yourself. That then suggests a different specific decoder has been used - in which case why?
  23. I took ‘one-off replica’ to mean a single item just like the original… However I would imagine the post has been written with deliberate ambiguity - so that production could be considered (if the response is overwhelmingly positive) - but equally it can remain a reasonably inexpensive marketing novelty (if response is overwhelmingly negative/horrified.)
  24. Forum has changed to a new provider - hence the different ‘look’ - this thread should help to get you started:
