Not sure if this has been thought about but what about a "Nature" profile, so that one perhaps could buy a card with a speaker, wire it up and put it in a house, shed, bush etc with birdsong, cows, sheep, farm machinery, dogs, perhaps odd things such as couples having a row etc.. would work with any scale. Gaugemaster have a series of modules and I'm sure I've seen others out there too. The advent of cheap players that can play from a micro-SD card makes these easy to produce. Didn't the recent Hornby TV program series show them working on a wagon with nature sounds on a sound decoder? Is that available yet? (sorry I don't follow 00 much). Doesn't seem so or am I wrong ? Also not TT. Just putting the sound files out there as a profile to be downloaded onto a decoder that will work with the Bluetooth app is what I am wondering ? Rallymatt Posted April 20 Share Posted April 20 @Gregory-374918 I have 3 ambient sound modules, the country one from Gaugemaster and then made 2 of my own using recordable sound modules that are intended for greetings cards/gifts etc, one for the sound of a pair of Hawker Hunters screaming overhead (short) and another with a loop of industrial dock sounds (15 min loop) for my quayside. There are several types, watch for the length of recording time and if you want to use a built in microphone or transfer a file. Many have options for the activation, switch, light activation, magnetic etc. not all do loops. You can also hardwire power supply (instead of batteries) most benefit from replacing the speaker, the spare ones from HM DCC decoders in an enclosure are very good. Yes, the CV accel/decel settings made under BT control do stick when you then use the loco under DCC control, indeed ‘most’ CV setting do, but there are a few that may not (CVs 17, 18 & 19 sometimes play up, for some reason). 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

LTSR_NSE Posted August 1 Share Posted August 1 The usual advice for difficulty installing a profile is to start with installing the Class 08 profile (as it is the smallest/simplest/quickest profile) - if that succeeds then retry your desired profile. Usually this just works. If not then you need to start fault testing different phone/tablet, WiFi connection, Bluetooth connection, etc. until you discover the cause of installation failure. Got it working on my recent purchase R3967 GWR 802/1. The rear "dummy" car has only one set of pick ups so the power to the decoder is intermittent and bluetooth fails. Yet coach lights stay on. nigeb Posted September 3 Share Posted September 3 I'm having a couple of problems: With the P2 profile (installed on 21 TXS in Thane of Fife) there is short blast of idle sound at idle then silence. Once the speed step reaches 8 and above the chuffing and steam sounds seem to be ok. I've tried resetting the decoder and reloading the profile multiple times. I tried a second 21 TXS and did same with the same result. With the MK4: DVT (while waiting expectantly for the APTE profile) - when it's installed in the APTE the horns only work in the reverse direction and some other sounds like the Cab Start up and AWS indicator have same issue. Not sure this is intended or if I'm missing something. Similar issue with the HST (Valenta) profile, the horns only work in one direction which seems a bit odd. I've got an older 8 pin HST running a pair of TTS decoders and that works in both directions. Powering on ECOS 50200 ~15v but the issues are seen when operating on bluetooth or dcc. Have to say, apart from it flattening my phone quickly, and bluetooth being a little slow, really find it very simple to set up and use the decoders. Would love even more if this could develop to Wireless IP but I guess that doesn't quite fit on a dcc chip yet 🙂 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Edit: function masking can be disabled using CV 119 (manual explains which values to use) just in case users would prefer non-prototypical running.
