lol same here! I have them grouped by expected dates. I’ve got the era 8 mk2f’s for the class 50.

The Mk2F are era 7, the Mk2E are era 8 ?

I have no idea if this is correct in real life, did the F come out before the E?

No, they came out alphabetically. The Mk 2Es in blue are appropriate for Era 7 and Era 8. They probably should have labelled them Era 7 IMO.

The era is just the livery they wear when it comes to coaches. The era 7's are generally blue and grey of the 70's & early 80's with era 8 the swallow / executive livery of the mid-late 80s. There were multiple versions of the Mk2 coaches, for TT the Mk2f are being released first for reasons unknown. I don't know why the website shows mk2e as era 8 because the blue grey should be era 7.

A similar era livery exists for the Mk1 coaches with era 4 being blood and custard and era 5 the red version. Hornby could produce Mk1 era 7 if they wanted as it would be the same coach as the era 4 & 5 but in the blue & grey.

I’m hoping they do release blue and grey Mk1s - perhaps when the other diesels are closer. Class 37 with Mk1s will be lovely.

Also other MK1 variants, SK,SO, RMB or RB and BG would be nice eventually. 🙂

Ahead of the upcoming Class 50 releases, I have uploaded a preview video of the Class 50s, trying to gather all available info to date. The link is here. If I have missed anything, I would greatly appreciate you knowledgable folks letting me know!

Ending with the words "represents very good value, particularly for the sound version"

I have resisted and resisted but somehow these words are particularly persuasive 😬

What are they? lol sorry I'm not too familiar with the abbreviations.

Edit: found a guide on wikipedia so SK - Second Corridor, SO - Second Open, Restaurant / Buffet.

Would like to see First Class and Sleeper coaches (Mk1 and Mk2) too.

As they are not symmetrical, does a Class 50 have an official front and rear?

I would say Hornby always show the loco pointing left, but the website and the catalogue have it differently.

Be interesting to know what 50s have you all got ordered? I've gone with the BR Blue with sound, Leviathan.

I really need a small logo headcode blue version, but as a stop gap until that’s available I preordered the large logo blue without sound.  I have a stockpile of sound decoders from the Hatton closing down sale so hopefully should be an easy job to fit sound to it. 🙂
