  1. @Mannick.........If you fitted the short straight R610 at 9:0'clock as suggested the small gap would easily be absorbed by the natural flexibilty in that size circle.........HB /media/tinymce_upload/a8f5e3a68d54f6697551bba1d83dadf3.jpg
  2. @Rob.........You need to switch to QuestHD channel, British Super Bikes at Donnington Park in fine weather.. 😆..........HB
  3. I have found nowt wrong with this search facility, has always worked for me satisfactorily and I see no point in comparing it to any other Forum's search engine... They each have their features.......HB
  4. @StubeyT...........You may find the information in these early Hornby Dublo catalogues useful......... http://img.chem.ucl.ac.uk/dublo/catalog.htm ..........HB
  5. It's not you........it just opens a WebSite holding page for some reason..........HB
  6. I have just run a class 37 TTS and can confirm that the loco does not have to be moving for those sounds as noted to function............HB
  7. Glad it sorted, thanks for the feedback..........HB
  8. Might be worth disconnecting your turn-table then check again..........HB
  9. That's looking great, Brian........Obviously kept you suitably occupied during 'lockdown'........HB
  10. @Siony............have a look here...... https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/magento/catalogsearch/result/?q=sand+box .......might be useful.........HB
  11. The class 66 locomotive was derived in part from the class 59 and uses a similar engine from EMD so the class 66 R8121 TTS decoder should be a reasonable choice.......HB
  12. I found the Zimo MX600R to be an easy installation..........HB /media/tinymce_upload/1382bcf855e2b204534aabe4c6e67c03.png
  13. The way I do it is to start with loco1 on controller1 running round loop1........then start controller2 with loco2 on loop2........you can then go back and press cont1, press the loco button and enter your next loco address so you'll have control of loco3 to go shunting etc but you have temporarily lost control of loco1 which will continue round it's loop at the speed you left it........if you have a third loop for loco3 you can then press controller2 then loco button, enter another address and have control of loco4 but you have lost control of loco2......so you have to remember the 4 loco addresses and on which tracks they are running.......you can easily stop one loco then go back to the other one to gain control.(after you have stopped the running loco first).......clear as mud 😮..........HB
  14. @GVS.............have a look here at the CV29 calculator......... http://www.2mm.org.uk/articles/cv29%20calculator.htm ......all of my decoders are set to a value of 2 in CV29.......the default for most decoders is 6 which includes DC operation, it is this that causes "DC runaway".........HB
  15. Bob C..........glad to hear you have it sorted........that leaflet is the manual and they usually indicate where the retaining screws are located.........HB
  16. I have recently fitted a TTS in a new Bachmann class 37 and to overcome the restricted height above the PCB I wired the TTS to a 21pin breakout board as available from Strathpeffer Junction..........all works well............HB /media/tinymce_upload/0bff8f6d20a0f125c851c7fd4b3a65c8.JPG
  17. Bob........those 3 screws should be replaced as they hold the bottom axle plate on.........you have the manual there so you should find an illustration of the tender with DCC socket and a note of where the fixing screws are located.........as we often recommend - RTFM 😆.......HB
  18. @DRW14...........PP3 clip with dangling wires....?????.............. /media/tinymce_upload/664d36a91d9636be8050c8a51ca041dd.JPG ...........HB
  19. This site also provides hundreds of old railway photos by John Turner..... https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-diesels/ .......ignore the "blue-diesels" in the address, there are hundreds of steam photos as well as diesels........HB
  20. As far as I am concerned subject is closed, for me some of you have shown your true colours. I think that statement reflects more on your attitude than those members you are referring to......our "true colours" are simply for a harmonious Forum....HB
  21. @ ColinB............I can find nothing rude in RAF96's post. There's nowt wrong with a man to man conversation or a bit of constructive criticism. PS.........there's no need to keep reminding us about your previous employments to prove you know what you are talking about. HB
  22. I find this response from Bachmann confusing. I have no trouble removing 21 pin circuit boards from Bachmann locos (why 21 pin for a steamer?) and hardwiring in a basic Hornby 4 pin decoder that works perfectly. Basically all a decoder does is convert the square wave AC DCC input into a variable 12v DC output to drive the motor...........HB
  23. @5Dublo2..........have a look at Sam'sTrains review........clearly shows TTS decoder and speaker in the Tender which has pick-ups for reliable running............ ........HB
  24. You could even buy a book of track plans from Amazon, either Hornby or Peco depending which track you prefer...........HB
