  1. If it was working when stored, should work when used again.
  2. Yes , you will need a new powerpack for arc air. But you seem not to fully understand what Andy said ,so might help you greatly to read a little more here before making a costly mistake on what you really want. Would suggest you buy a used sport analog powerbase and controllers and powerpack or two , ( if you get the correct one, it becomes 1 pack per lane) from the 21st century.
  3. No, if operating controller properly when passing lap counter and if track was built following the requirements and if guides fit requirements too - see slotracer.online for arc pro manual.
  4. Well if we are comparing apples to apples, with all other facts the same, such as: Same car tested on both with chip installed Same powerbase with no other change then switching digital to analog side. No app used for either. No changers. If so, your results would indicate that the digital side of the car/powerbase combo is using more power, thus car is slower when digital racing. (There is no way to separate the powerbase from the car when testing apple to apple, so unknown is if chip itself uses less power itself, when running analog and the behavior of each revision of chips or if it is result of the powerbase alone or a combination of both) If car is equal on both, install changers to see if that makes the difference. Your results will be interesting here. A 2nd power pack always helps, but it may or may not change this situation. In the end , you are just playing with toys.
  5. If you search the net, you will find dealers that have replacement tires with charts showing what car used on.
  6. Have not noticed this , where digital is slower on digital than when same car is run on analog side of same powerbase , but could be result of all power used to operate the track as digital, such as lane changers.
  7. Sets have names and numbers. So if neither provided you get general info. Used track is most likely the current sport and not classic Analog powerbase that can use 2 powerpacks ( 1 per lane), are better than any other. Battery powered lapcounters are better than mechanical. F1s are fast and fragile but come with standard motor , axle and gears. (Vintage f1s are very fast and very fragile with smaller faster motor, and smaller axles and gears.) They come with long wheelbase thus tighter corners can be difficult. Modern F1s can be converted to digital with soldered in chipon older ones or with dpr with current models.. People seem to buy sets based on car styles they like, but toys are not equal. Personally have picked up used sets , when already knew how toy will perform and knew which sets to avoid. If you like open wheel, suggest indy dallara over f1s because they are stronger and handle much better and 2 sets can be found. (Sold off all scaly modern f1s and run indys instead, that have digitalized.)
  8. Since cannot see car and now too lazy to search the net to find missing details, will suggest general answers. All magnets used should be rare earth and not the cheap junk that cost very little. Try to avoid too much magnet because it will slow you down, ie car will stick when track is turned over. If car has flat bottom, you can superglue magnet there , between motor and axle gear for inline and before motor for sidewinder , as long as you have track clearance or it will fault the track. When running digital, suggest even less magnet the better , in tandom with good replacement tires of silicone or urathane, which have different characteristics which you can find and read about on net. Personally preferr silicones but urethanes have their fans too. If toy does not have bottom, stick mags on side of can but not on top or bottom, but do not overdue it.

  10. C , believe McLaine is asking why arc pro cannot have pace car change lanes randomly like advanced. Glad to see you are back. gorp
  11. Analog - no digital chips involved See at top of page, shop, sets, analog, and scroll down. Basic set with mechanical lap counter and nice controllers , similar to what you played with long ago. If you have questions , ask here at analog subforum or check out help/advice at top of page. Enjoy it !!!
  12. Golly, should have read this closer about magic running analog. You should put info over on general forum to go along with video.
  13. Gee, never knew magic was for analog too. But now see that McLaine mentions it over on arc app forum Anyway, skip 2nd power pack suggestion.
  14. There are dealers out there for older parts but may cost you plenty. You could always try finding another body to strip off. Or accept the fact that accident happen when racing (or depending on your outlook, when playing with toys ) and things break off and get lost, so only way to avoid in future is to buy 2 , 1 to preserve and 1 to crash around.
  15. Nice job McLaine !!! Make sure you have 2 power packs on the arc pro. Off the top of my head and just guessing at the missing details, carrera is another brand and may have different power requirements, And if the metro is a scaly, it may have a different style motor than the gte, with different rpm. Excessive magnets can also slow things down.
  16. Having 2 or more powerbases on the same track requires all powerbases lane wiring to be disconnected from the track and then connected to a switcher to select which power base to be used and finally from the switcher back to the track. Believe Mr Flippant , usually found at slot forum or other sites has done this mod for his traveling rental track.
  17. If you ever plan to buy any car manufactured by scaly since 2000 and about any other make , buy a new ( since 2000) deeper, sport track. Or get out your carving knife. Personally have picked up a few used sport sets at great prices with the cars that had wanted on ebay and got the optional 2 power pack, powerbases which had wanted too (Made from 2000 to 2010) . Used sport, battery lap counters are available there and highly recommend them over mechanical ones.
  18. Analog/Digital 101 Analog is one lane per car. Digital is one lane for all cars. Thus no analog car will ever change lanes on analog or digital Digital cars will only change lanes on digital. Class dismissed.
  19. The term goes back to the first golden age where it referred to long flat tracks with 6 basic corners. Guess you just had to be there. Scaly allows mixing of various curves of 45 degress radius to easily be used thanks to the use of "short pieces", which were lacking in many sets back then, so they were less challenging than your track today.
  20. Nice long track, similar to what is called 6 pack, but do you take end off to close garage ?
  21. Like to keep an eye on latest scaly digital news at slot forum. C now has quick fix for arc pro to eliminate problem of distance from eye to guide. Guessing that to be in next revision of that powerbase, probably 2021. Now you can do eye to guide fix now, but fix will not correct holding the change button down through lap counter issue of original arc pro, nor will it eliminate the long required need to have straights before powerbase and the easiest version of fix does make digital base only.
  22. WELCOME BACK WOODCOTE !!!
  23. could be chip but doubt it problem most likely at guide check the guide for proper assembly per scaly instructions after pulling back car on track or accident - see help and advice above check guide for correct braid adjustment check guide for broken lead wire
  24. try typing in scaly 287 on google. - its easy figured lights burned out or were annoying for power use
